Returned home from the weekend to find the following e-mail. So, it looks like they have moved beyond Com. Bank. Also I had requested a complete listing of all my current stock positions sometime ago, I received that information in a separate e-mail.

Dear Mr. XXXXX,

Please be informed that your Dar Al Salam Bank stock held under the name of our proxy company has been transferred to your good name and the transfer fee as set by the ISX has been deducted from your account.

A stock certificate will be issued in your good name and provided once received from the company.

Your account balance IQD: XXXXXX.XXX

Best regards,

Thanks Buck, I wonder if they are doing it per institution or individual..
I have yet to receive any emails on this subject..
Did you ask to have them placed in your good name?

No, I did not ask. They did Com. Bank for me about a month ago. I know of several other ISX brothers that also had Com. Bank done, but no other companies. Now it seems it is Dar's turn. So it appears they are doing it one institution at a time.

jmho, Buck

When Warka provides the certificate, does that mean they will mail it to your home or business address? Or will they store the certificate for you in the bank vault?

I ask this because if you ever want to sell the stock, and you have it at you home, you will not be able to sell until you Fedex the certificate back to the bank...Costing you lots of time and FedEx fees.

Here's hoping some one knows about this. Thanks.

Seems to me like they are doing both.
I received one transfer for one company. Still awaiting for a few more.

It is my understanding they keep them as do most brokerage houses in the US, exactly for the reasons you stated.
