This is touched upon in the Aman Financial Services thread, but I felt this deserved particular attention b/c i missed it first time around and figured others might have as well.

Go here...

And scroll to the bottom to read through "The ISX Pulse" where daily articles are posted about the ISX trading sessions, specific, up-to-the-minute, detailed info about many of the listed companies, iraq's market sector, etc.

Basically, this is vital information for anyone interested in investing in the ISX.

Ten percent of Basra Bank sold in first debut, September, 08

Fifteen million shares were traded today in Pepsi Baghdad at an average price of ID23.250. The stock closed at ID 22.85. Today is the last day of trade in this stock as the company will be closed for trade because of going into general assembly scheduled for September 22. There is confusion whether the company is going to issue new shares in the scheduled general assembly. According to some circulating reports the meeting may decide on a 100% new issue of shares, may be in a split. This however has not been included in the agenda of the general assembly invitation letter to the meeting published in several newspapers. Investors and brokers alike have voiced their displeasure with lack of clarity on this issue. Pepsi Baghdad has few major shareholders; among them is the well known Buniah family.

I saw ISX went up overall @ 10%.
I am confused by the charts though:
Iraqi Co for Transport of Oil Products , Code 98, for instance
open - 6
close - 6
%of change - 44.58

Will someone please explain?

Also I saw Baghdad Hotel and it didn't open or close but was at 300 with no bids. What does that indicate?

I apologize for my lack of knowledge on stocks. I just know mutual funds, but pla  n to change that w/ ISX!

Iraqi Co for Transport of Oil Products previous closing price was 4.15. It closed at 6 on 10/1 so there was an increase of 44.58% from the previous close.

Many of our US stocks open at different prices than they close because of after-hours trading. I guess the same may apply here but I don't know.
