I has been by experince that I found out that alot of companies do not provide any coverage back home when you on R&R but only in theater!
This amazes me seeing they will offer 401k packages but not medical benfits for you or your family,

What company do you work for? I would much rather have the 401K than the crappy medical I have thru mine.

You should get a 401k plan.I know what it is now. You also have to be part of there Credit Union too!:D
I think. But I surely remeber last year when the stock was hoving around 27.00 we got a employee discount. Now a year later it's worth 50% more!
In the meantime if something were to happen to you or your family that is one the CIGNA plan which KBR offers. You are covered.
Other workers with companies that don't offer the package have to shell it out of the pocket:mad:

I've been working DOD contractors for about 7 years now and to my knowledge ithas always been a DOD contractual requirement for the contractors to ensure that their employees have health coverage of some sort.

KBR does if you work for KBR directly. About 3 years ago KBR got away from hiring overseas contract employees directly to KBR. They subcontracted a company called SEII that KBR employees now fall under. If you were hired in the past 3 years then you are under SEII and not elegable for KBR benefits such as 401k. However, you are elegable for the Halliburton or KBR stock discounts if you are interested in purchasing shares.

That is true Firedog but it also depends on what you were hired as, for instance if you are considered management taht you are OAS which entitles you to health benefits and 401K.

I think everyone should be covered when they go home on R&R

I'm pretty sure that you are. At least I'm assuming. I really don't think much about getting hurt so I really never payed close attention to the complete details of our medical benefits.. I just hope for the best.

When I was with KBR, I was covered by my health coverage while on R&R. So was my child.
