BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq: A parliamentarian from the Kurdistan Alliance (KA) on Saturday described the oil contracts signed between the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and international companies as “legal,” adding the oil minister’s statements about them “lack accuracy.”
“No one can contest the legality of the oil contracts made by the KRG because they are in accordance with the oil and gas law approved by the Kurdistan Parliament,” MP Bayzeed Hassan told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
“When the Iraqi Parliament passes the hydrocarbon law, an authority headed by the oil and gas committee will be set up to examine the oil contracts signed by the federal and regional governments with foreign bodies,” the parliamentarian added.
On Thursday (1/1), the Iraqi minister of oil, Hussein al-Shahrestani, said that his government rejects the contracts signed between the regional government and foreign companies
Hassan, who is also a member of the oil and gas committee, said that Shahrestani’s statements reflected his ministry’s failure in managing the oil sector throughout the past five years.

Apparently they can. The oil minister has to go! He has singlehandedly cost this country their entire budget for the coming year.:headbang:
