Just got done cutting checks to the State and Feds.:headbang:
(actually I use the online payment system)

I propose a bill to wipe out withholding and all citizens must figure and pay all income taxes by check.

I sometimes wonder if people have any idea how much the Gov't is TAKING and have become complacent worker bees. This will force everyone to be aware and hopefully begin the process of holding our supposed leaders accountable for excess spending. I guarantee you, you will be a bit more aware when you dole out the money yourself.

Plus the employers will save millions on accounting.

As I stood in line at the bank, clutching my payments in my hand (a tear cascading down my face) - I couldn't help but wonder how much more I am going to be paying next year - by the way -- I refuse to make it easier on those blood sucking whores to get their grubby hands on my money !!!

another thing, we in MN have had several budget surpluses over the past decade.

Proposed constitutional amendment: Surpluses must be returned to the tax payers or put into a savings account. Interest earned is the only portion that can be touched in future budgets. If any politician proposes the principal be spent they must be removed from the floor and imprisoned. No questions asked! immediately!

Right now they are spending the surpluses. Once they do that the budget has increased, the next biennium they will expect the same budget. Then they whine about shortfalls. Pathetic!

I hear ya! I think its a good thing we have to pay out of pocket. Trust me, I pay only what I need to and they are not stealing interest on my earnings. Make em wait for it.

Yep I agree - I hated it when I did the 9-5 for someone else and they were pulling it out weekly -- but sheesh !!!! I am so for a flat tax rate !

I believe the current income tax system is totally flawed and is the single largest inhibitor to economic recovery.
The income tax should be abolished in favor of some form of national sales tax.

I agree 100%, requiring everyone to pay out of pocket would be a means to getting the sales tax implemented.

unfortunately neither will happen under the current climate. I believe the MN Republican party has the flat tax or Natl Sales tax in the party platform, BUT I havnt heard anyone in any leadership role actually campaign or act on it. Week kneed RINO's everywhere.

People need to quit thinking that taking back our government, our tax system, is impossible.
We need to stop the negativity and band together, both sides of the aisle, fence straddlers, independents, everyone and make our voices heard !!!
Everybody banding together on one single issue and getting action on it will bring this country back together and be the humble beginnings of the utopia that the Messiah promises but cannot deliver without a real substantive breakthrough such as a revamped tax system can bring about !!!

Im not saying its impossible (if thats how you took it)

Im saying incrementally taking it back just as they have incrementally taken it away. If we could get something like this passed it could ignite a tax code revolt.

we know many people wouldnt pay it and the ones that did would want the tax code changed. The political machine might go for a Natl sales tax when they see the lack of funds and the pissed off population that does pay it.

Organizing a revolt would be much easier at that point.

......my point being, they'll never pass anything that could potentially create the situation you speak of, i.e.; less income to the government, however it is provable fact that a national sales tax type system would generate just as much, if not more, government revenue while being exceptionally less burdensome on the taxpayers, so much so that it would stimulate the economy greatly.
It's the type of "common sense" that needs to be mass communicated on Obama's site and everywhere else.
What would stimulate the economy more, an individual taxpayer receiving a (hypothetical) $2,000. check or that same individual taking home the $2,000. per month of his/her paycheck that is presently withheld ???

cant disagree with ya there, the sales tax proposal has just been spinning its wheels for years now. I think if you asked Americans they would be in favor of the natl sales tax by a large margin. The ones who know what it is anyway. We need a Ronnie Reagan to emerge again.

Jason Lewis has been talking about running for office, he subs for Rush.

It'll never pass without dems behind it, for that to happen the dem voters will have to be educated on what exactly we're talking about and that'll require drowning out the propaganda machine which they primarily gain their superior intelligence from.
I honestly believe making enough noise (in the right places) could get it done during the Obama regime, it'll take tact and have to be promoted as a bright sunshiney idea from the left but hey that's ok, just so long as it happens !!!

Why are you folks bothering to pay anything now? Just hire an accountant that doesn't know what he's doing - that way, you can save thousands while things are tough. When they catch you, you can claim it was your accountant's fault, and they WILL say that is okey dokey with them...

After all, if it's good enough for the nominee for Treasury Secretary, it's good enough for us....right???????

.......or all of us just send them a letter saying " ____ (all four letters left blank in the interest of not masking words that could offend the weak stomached complainers that fill up admn.'s pm box) You ! , we're not paying another cent until you pass a national sales tax" .........but then they've still got all that withholding coming in, the folks who get net checks and think uncle sam knows what's best are the ones that must be educated !!!
