View Full Version : Stocks not on the daily list or not trading list

Trying to get up to speed on the ISX and trying to limit the questions I toss out here for help. Could not solve this one on my own so...Couple of questions.
1) I have seen days where stocks are not listed on the daily trading bulletin or the 'Not trading' report. Is this just a case of the stocks being overlooked by the staff that put together the reports? For example todays report does not show 'Electronic Industries' (see question two) or 'Iraqi for Met and Field Crops' Any thoughts?
2) I have not seen Electronic Industries on either report for a while. Does any one have info on them? New Name??
Thanks in advance,:handshake:

And, from one site to another, the stock prices will be different...For example, if I was buying stocks, which is the one to go by, as per purchasing stocks...I've noticed that even on the best sites, as stated in the prior posting, sometimes stocks are not even listed...makes it kinda hard to buy when you dont know the daily rate...maybe I'm missing something here...or just a dummy..but trying?

When I am placing an order I go by the daily bulletin first, for example todays:
http://www.isx-iq.net/page/english/bulletins/day/2009/1/25-01-e.htm
and if it is not listed I go to the daily analysis, not trading tab:
http://www.isx-iq.net/page/english/analysis-daily-e.htm
You may, but I don't think you will have a lot of luck requesting an order for anything but the equivalent of 'at market' price. It is difficult enough getting orders filled without placing price limits on your request. My requests 'at market' price have come in anywhere between expected and .05 above or below what I anticipated without stipulating 'buy at" a certain price. All in all, very satisfied.

Well good question...over the 2 years I have been in it ...there has been many times that some stocks don't trade...they usually say cause they are in their "general meetings"...but I don't know cause how can a general meeting las 4 months ...?? anyway as fare as buy limits...until the market goes electronic and prices start to fluctuate....there is not need to worry to much about that ....they are only moving 1000's of a penny at a time ...:giggle:

Private Public Partnerships (PPPs)
This year (2007) the MIM offered 13 opportunities for private sector investment in partnership arrangements, five in the cement sector. The bid period was closed on 31st July – after a number of extensions, and the number of bids for each cement plant offered as part of the scheme is set out in table 4.2.2. The terms and conditions were set out on the Ministry’s web site with full documentation being made available for a USD 350.00 fee. Terms included such areas as production and required government deliveries, provision of power plants, and certain requirements particular to the individual plant.
Table 4.2.2 Bids received for PPP with the cement plants in the MIM offer30.

At the time of writing the names of the bidders, or the value of the bids was unknown (August 2007), however, it is understood that the offers for Kerbala, Kirkuk and Muthanna are to be evaluated. Sinjar is not because there was a minimum requirement of 3 offers, and therefore the bid criteria are not met, and in Al-Qa’im domestic issues have precluded the process.

5.0CONCLUSIONS
Overview of the Iraqi Cement Industry IZDIHAR - USAID Contract #267-C-00-04-00435-00
The Iraqi cement industry has enormous potential. As a net exporter in the late 1980’s, a trend that was interrupted through circumstances unrelated to the industry, the industry was showing great promise.
However there are significant impediments to its current development, outside of physical security. These mainly relate to the age of the industry, and its degree of development, and the security of fuel supply. With regard to the former, if the number of tenders made for the MIM redevelopment or PPP contracts for the large cement plants are reliable indicators, there are investors with significant funds wishing to move in the sector. This is certainly evidenced in the KRG region where there are reported the two Orascom and consortia developments, and in addition the recently reported investment in Dohuk.
The process for investment in new and refurbished capacity deservs observing closely over the coming period as it will show how favourble the current institutional environment is to industrial investments undertaken by the private sector.

Ok, This is my first go around in regard to Who's on first Whats on second, no paid up, Freeshares 3rd base 20%. I decipher the dates as 11/02/2008 (meeting start date?) and then 11/24/3009 (meeting end date?) and from what Bonz, Bel and Crow discussed there are two distribution options that the ISX cos. may offer as a result of their annual meeting? I am really stretching but I am trying here.
If this is already spelled out on the forum give me the word "Look it up Newbie" and I will continue my search. Did not find it frst go around.
My questions:
1) Where can I find out what the first 55 /second 55 etc means.
2) What should I expect to see in way of formal 'announcement' that Electronic Industries is doing the "20%" thing.
3) As Beluga alluded to he / we almost had to take advantage of something and buy more shares? How does that scenario work.
I think I just made a good case in proving my ignorance. Any help, guidance or direction in the above, once again appreciated.

HG It is hard to keep track, if you hear about paid in shares being offered contact your broker or bank and request to purchase them. Free shares will be credited to your account as they are issued. But keep in mind sometimes if the shares are small amounts because you have a small position or if the company is one of the lesser knowns you will not get confirmation but shares will be credited to your account. Also it does take some detective work to find out which companies are making offers, does take some effort but is worth while as small investors can build up positions without being restricted by minimum share purchase requirements.

I'm not sure about the first 55, 2nd 55, can onlyspeculate. Maybe shhot Mr. I. an email. Announcements... keep checking Warka website, most times it will get posted on IIF, however I missed 1 or 2 because of lack of attention... taking advantage of the free or cheap shares is just a matter of sending Warka's ISX dept a letter stating you want to buy the offered shares, using an email similar to a stock purchase email.

What you are looking at is the page that shows the stocks that did not trade because the Buyer and the Seller Prices never matched. Sort of like Limit Orders. In others words, there were no Market Orders and these Limit Orders never made the price point. Notice anything Odd Here??:

Here Look at the Arabic Side of the ISX and compare the two:

:party:I see, So in my limited single language world of english when I do not see a particular stock on the english version of the analysis or bulletin hence I think it is missing in action when in reality it may be listed on the arabic version as being traded.
So if I am correct. Can we take that a step further and say that the arabic version is the 'Iraqi' trades for the day and the english version is the 'Non-Iraqi' trades for the day? Or is it just not good reporting? Make sense?

Example:
I want to buy North Bank...I tell Warka to buy 1 million shares for me and I want to pay 2.500 Dinars a share. They take this order to the market and will make the BID on my behalf.. Unless there is someone Like Crow who is willing to offer up his shares for 2.500, there will be NO TRADE and thus it won't be listed on the daily bulliten because there were no DEALS BROKERED for that particular share.
The opposite could play as well. Crow may wan't to OFFER his shares up for sale at 3.000 Dinars but there will only be a a couple BIDS to buy them at 2.750....SO NO ACTION takes place.

CP, I understand that part. My confusion was not seeing the stock on either the daily bulletin or the Not Trading list. Is your example saying that since someone was willing to Bid or to Offer but since no one excepted the Bid or the Offer then it will not show up on either report since technically it was available for trading but there were no takers so it does not show up. With that, the 'Not Trading' report is a designated report based on whether the stock was available for trade that day and not a reflection that it did not trade because a "Bidder" and "Offeror" could not be matched?

It is published, it is just that the Arabic side is more current and trustworthy than the English side.
