The sponsor of this bill is Alcee Hastings from Florida. He is a far, far left Democrat according to GovTrack analysis of his voting record/bill sponsorship. We do need to watch this carefully. 'Emergency Aid Centers' can easily become 'Emergency Detention Centers' with a simple verbal mandate from this current administration. We already have plans in place to take care of civilians in emergency situations. We don't need to sink 360 Million dollars into converting closed military bases into civilian holding camps.

Exactly my friend it almost seems like the writing is on the wall.
Im looking at sites & seeing the numbers of Homeless in our 50 states and the numbers are staggering. The fema camps dont seem so far fetched to me anymore almost makes one wonder why they were shut to begin with. In most cases the local economys were the one to take the blows when these bases closed turning some to ghost towns. Clinton closed them now lets see if Obama opens them as shelters [FEMA CAMPS] God help us.

What are you following me? This is getting pretty pathetic DNM....Yes this is something we have to watch VERY closely...as i said in my post...how does that equate to my head in the sand...really you've got to learn how to read posts before you respond...your responses are just sounding more ignorant each time...I had always thought you were an intelligent guy...you've had some great insight on this board...But recently...Your posts are getting Sad and kind of pathetic...i'm starting to feel sorry for you
I don't know if your off you meds or what? But these personnal attacks that you're following me around with...seriously guy grow up...Open your eyes
I never thought before today that i would have to use the ignore option
You missed my point DH.
Sitting around "watching" right now with the speed at which this administration and congress are shoving crap down our throats, is why we are so far in trouble these days.
You have supported nearly 100% of Obama's "CHANGE".
Sitting around, and not being completely outraged by all of this freedom theiving going on, is how we are losing our freedoms so fast.
These bailouts are an "emergency crisis", yet months later we have money left over.
This fake stimulus package is a "crisis" that has to be passed yesteday, even if none of it will show up in the economy until 2011, when Obama says the recession will be over in 2010. RAM IT THROUGH!
And ones like this...........give some one authority ( a lone person) to make a determination to call an emergency.
This Bozo is trying to give a few key people authority to numerous individuals, who could all pull thier triggers, so to speak, and we will then have no constitution and no country.
It wasn't meant as a personal attack, but an attack on the "wait an see" philosophy.

Over 11,000,000 are homeless ! Isn't that a delightful thought. Countrywide told a friend of mine that they wouldn't be able to help her family because they were not 2 months in arrears with their mortgage even though her husband lost his job, and her health doesn't allow her to work outside the home. So they missed 2 months and countrywide told them they were foreclosing - she tried to get them to work with her on the HOPE program and they refused to alter their house payment to help them out until her husband got back on his feet. After all the $$ Countrywide received....
If you think this isn't a well planned organized scam to bring the USA down on her knees you got another thing coming.

GypsyRose, you are spot on with these words, "If you think this isn't a well planned organized scam to bring the USA down on her knees you got another thing coming."
Also, does anyone wonder why President Obama wants to keep this part of GWB's legacy?
Obama preserves renditions as counter-terrorism tool LINK (http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/world/middleeast/la-na-rendition1-2009feb01,0,5099258.story)
By Greg Miller - February 1, 2009
Reporting from Washington -- The CIA's secret prisons are being shuttered. Harsh interrogation techniques are off-limits. And Guantanamo Bay will eventually go back to being a wind-swept naval base on the southeastern corner of Cuba.
But even while dismantling these programs, President Obama left intact an equally controversial counter-terrorism tool.
Under executive orders (http://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing_room/executive_orders/) issued by Obama recently, the CIA still has authority to carry out what are known as renditions, secret abductions and transfers of prisoners to countries that cooperate with the United States.
Also, the above link in red takes you to a summary of the executive orders that have already been made. Just a 'heads-up' but it might be wise to keep up with this E.O. to see where this person pops-up in the future:

Ali Saleh Kahlah al-Marri, from Qatar but a legal US resident, arrives in the US with his wife and five children, reportedly to pursue a master’s degree in computer science at Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois. [Peoria Journal Star, 12/19/2001 (http://www.collegefreedom.org/AMpsj01.htm); New York Times, 6/21/2004 (http://www.nytimes.com/2004/06/21/politics/21GITM.html)] Al-Marri appears to have been sent to the US by 9/11 mastermind Khalid Shaikh Mohammed (KSM). During his interrogation, KSM will identify al-Marri as “the point of contact for al-Qaeda operatives arriving in the US for September 11 follow-on operations.” He will describe al-Marri as “the perfect sleeper agent because he has studied in the United States, had no criminal record, and had a family with whom he could travel.” [Newsweek, 6/15/2003 (http://www.msnbc.com/news/926691.asp)] However, there are doubts about the reliability of KSM’s interrogation, which is believed that have been obtained through the use of torture (see June 16, 2004 (http://www.historycommons.org/item.jsp?item=a0616interrogations)). Al-Marri also lived in Illinois for part of 2000 under a different name. [New York Daily News, 1/11/2003 (http://www.nydailynews.com/news/story/50725p-47583c.html)] He is apparently related to Mohamed al-Khatani, who attempted to enter the US in August 2001 to join the 9/11 plot (see July 2002 (http://www.historycommons.org/entity.jsp?entity=ali_saleh_kahlah_al-mari#torture,_rendition,_and_other_abuses_against_ captives_in_iraq,_afghanistan,_and_elsewhere_2282) ). [New York Times, 6/21/2004 (http://www.nytimes.com/2004/06/21/politics/21GITM.html)] In December 2001, al-Marri will be detained as a material witness to the 9/11 attacks (see December 12, 2001 (http://www.historycommons.org/entity.jsp?entity=ali_saleh_kahlah_al-mari#torture,_rendition,_and_other_abuses_against_ captives_in_iraq,_afghanistan,_and_elsewhere_2177) ).

Ah, yes - bill HR 645
Brings to my mind that the Vice President sometimes get diarrhea of the mouth. Thank you, Joe for a big 'heads-up'
Joe Biden: Mark my words. Mark my words. It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. The world is looking. Were about to elect a brilliant 47-year old senator president of the United States of America. Remember I said it standing here if you dont remember anything else I said. Watch, were gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy. And hes gonna have to make some really tough - I dont know what the decisions gonna be, but I promise you it will occur. As a student of history and having served with seven presidents, I guarantee you its gonna happen. I can give you at least four or five scenarios from where it might originate. And hes gonna need help. And the kind of help hes gonna need is, hes gonna need you, not financially to help him, were gonna need you to use your influence, your influence within the community, to stand with him. Because its not gonna be apparent initially, its not gonna be apparent that were right...Only thing Im asking you is, you know, gird your loins. Were gonna win with your help, God willing, were gonna win, but this is not gonna be an easy ride. This president, the next president, is gonna be left with the most significant task. Its like cleaning the Aegean stables, man. This is more than just, this is more than - think about it, literally, think about it - this is more than just a capital crisis, this is more than just markets, this is a systemic problem we have with this economy....Lets not be, for those of a different faith remember St. Peter denied Christ thrice, you know? We dont need anybody denying us, this is gonna be tough. There are gonna be a lot of you who want to go whoa, wait a minute, yo, whoa, whoa, I dont know about that decision. Because if you think the decision is sound when theyre made, which I believe you will when theyre made, theyre not likely to be as popular as they are sound. Because if theyre popular, theyre probably not sound..I probably shouldnt have said all this because it dawned on me that the press is here.

QUESTION: Does President Obama know what he is doing? Think about that carefully before answering it. If anything, he is politically astute but he did make revealing remarks during the campaign i.e., the bitter clinger remarks. Those were made in private to a group in San Fransisco but were leaked. Read below another post [edited] because I for one do think he knows what he is doing/saying especially when he knows his statements are made in public. Just what is he trying to instigate?
Also, got a 'heads-up" from a source in ME basically saying President Obama's interview on the Dubai-based, Saudi-owned Al-Arabia news channel did not sit well with many on the street. What he meant and what they heard is 2 different things. Here is some of what was sent to me.
What Obama actually said, heard by many is entirely different than what he meant, but, it is from his own words:
The United States starts by dictating, we don't always know all the factors that are involved. Look at the proposal that was put forth by King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia, I might not agree with every aspect of the proposal, if you look at the track record with the Muslim world....who is trying to promote the interests of the United States, ordinary people who right now are suffering from poverty and a lack of opportunity? America is a country of Muslims, Jews, Christians, non-believers.
Believe it or not folks, this is a troubling development for America. It appears Muslims also have selective hearing.
