I am going to be talking with him today, so I wanted to give everyone a chance to post a few questions that they would like asked to this thread so that I can ask them of him.

Post away! :huge:

You must be well connected ;) I wouldn't have thought anyone could get close to him.
I would ask him what mechanism he expects to have in place for individual small investors to trade on opening day. Will there be reliable realtime quotes...will it be possible for individual investors to make trades in anything close to realtime? How will it work? Lots more questions...I'm sure others will chime in.

Bigtime thanks to you.

Yes, I have a question.

How is the overall ISX Index figured.
Hopefully there is some kind of weighting similar to DJIA?
It seems they just take the sector index(s) and then average the average with no consideration for the stock value or volume.
This applies to all the trading sessions...but if you can get him to look a one in particular and explain how they arrived at that index number.
This was trading session Sept 6, 2007.
This is still available by going to the following link:
http://www.isx-iq.net/page/english/bulletins/day/2007/9/06-09-e.htm

Hope you can get an explanation!!!!

Thanks

Looks like Sept 2006 was IQDFiend last post.

However I would appreciate anyone's comments on the computation of the ISX Index.

Baghdad stock exchange switches for progress

Iraq's rising prosperity is to be symbolically marked this week with the inauguration of a new stock exchange system in Baghdad.
The country's small band of traders are to mark the end of an era with the switch to electronic trading - a milestone in the nation's recovery
