Buying a new putor: Don't

Before you consider buying a new putor.
Hold off for awhile.
The new Windows 7 is due out in Sept. maybe sooner.
Wait for putor manufactures to offer free upgrades to keep sales up.

Buy a linux magazine with a linux DVD or CD to install. Back up all the .pdf, .doc,... files to use with an OS that works.
