View Full Version : Question for the ISX Old Timers

I've only been in the ISX world since Oct 08 (up 23% to date:happy64:) so I am not sure how some logistics work.
I have been tracking the company news on the ISX page. For the past month or so there are two stocks listed that I have invested in and i believe/assume I am eligible for whatever they are announcing since the dates of their meetings (or at least the dates listed) are after I purchased these stocks.
One is Electronic Industries and it says "second/55 20%"
the other is Al-Hilal and it says "First/55 -------"
In both cases the dates listed for these have now passed. I originally figured once the dates passed I would hear or be told something.
What does this mean and most importantly how do I make sure I do not miss out on this (assuming it is a good thing)? With as busy as Warka is I am a little concerned that I may not be apprised of any action I need to take.
Thanks ahead of time,
HG

Check Warka website updates. Otherwise email Warka for information.

I'm wondering if you guys have your ISX/ISC registrations done ?
If I were to wager a bet, I would say those complaining have not registered.
Just an observation, could there be a link ?
I'm still waiting for my CRED and Basrah bank freebies. I hold some Al Hilal but haven't heard anything about any free/paid up shares or Dividents yet.

I've been registered for over a year AbuGrave.
I own these stocks and have not heard from Warka in a long time. They never automatically send what is deserved. You have to bug them or hope you happen to see announcements on the IIF or the website.
If only Warka had enough employees to service everyone. What a wonderful world it would be.

ABU, This is not directed at you. It is more as a food for thought on some of the frustration that is bubbling up out there. So here goes......
Now I am not sure I was complaining or asking a question but either way since the questioned was raised here goes:
Yes, I have done the paperwork and submitted to Warka and ISX.
No, I do not think they have had it long enough to do anything with it.
HERE IS THE KICKER - AND OTHERS MAY GET A TINGLY FEEL ON THEIR LEG AS CHRIS MATHEWS PUTS IT.
HAVING THE PAPERWORK DONE NOW DOES ME NO GOOD with my current portfolio and only helps if I want to buy stocks that are electronic in the distant future. WARKA WILL NO LONGER CHANGE PROXY OVER UNTIL THE STOCK IS LISTED TO GO ON THE EXCHANGE. AND HERE IS THE REALLY NEAT PART. YOU ARE CHARGED 2% FOR THE TRANSFER. FOR THOSE THAT DECIDE IF A COMPLAINT IS JUSTIFIED OR NOT PLEASE CLARIFY THIS FOR ME. TRANSFERRING THE STOCKS HELD IN PROXY NOW AT 2 DINAR INSTEAD OF WAITING UNTIL THEY ARE 20 DINAR A SHARE IS A STUPID REQUEST BECAUSE WHY WOULD I WANT TO PAY 2% ON A PORTFOLIO WORTH 4 MIL WHEN I CAN WAIT AND PAY 2% ON A PORTFOLIO WORTH 40 MIL. IS THAT A COMPLAINT OR A LEGITIMATE QUESTION OF ONES BUSINESS PRACTICES?
I am still a Warks fan and recommend them at this time to others however I am not a blind lemming. (If so I would have voted for Obama). In closing, I have submitted and they are in receipt of all my paperwork and I have sent 2 wires this week both valued in the 1,000's. Lets see if they still treat me like Rodney Dangerfield.
I am not however far from failing to suppress the other side of me that tells me:
"I WENT THROUGH THE F'N MONKEY ACT FOR THESE PEOPLE. THE SQUEEZE IS ON. THEY NO LONGER WANT US. WE SERVED OUR PURPOSE WITH THE SEED MONEY THEY WERE WILLING TO TAKE WHEN IT WAS AN ULTIMATE RISK. MAYBE HOWLER IS RIGHT."

HG - I'm sensing a little anger. :giggle:
You know I really am fighting the "hey that kid has more candy then me mentality" when I see what I missed the last couple weeks that I have been trying to get on board with. However, I need to keep reminding myself I am fortunate to be in this as far as I am. (Thanks to you, GD, Crow, and many others) I just need to get about two or three more things accomplished and I can take a step back.
So yes Mrs. R, I mean SV a little frustration is there but all in all thumbs up. (Hey, If your still in the office stick your head into Mr. I's and ask him to read my email(s).):giggle::giggle:back at ya

.......As long as you purchase a stock BEFORE they shut down for their meeting, you should be eligible for any splits/dividends they may offer and should get them EVENTUALLY!:wondering: However, I have seen other date stipulations that effect the amount of the split you might receive. I can't remember which stock it was....but once the amount of your split was dependent on WHEN you purchased your stock. If you purchased it in 2006 you got one amount and if you purchased it in 2007 you got a different amount?! I actually had purchased some of this particular stock in both years...so my split......was split!?!?!
As far as, first 55 & second 55/20%. That isn't referring to a split or dividends. I CAN'T REMEMBER EXACTLY WHEN IT WAS...but the CBI/ISX? Made it mandatory that they increase their capitol and set aside so much money kinda like a reserve. I think you will find that that is what the numbers are referring to. Example: One paid 90% towards it's first years capitol increase(first 55) and 10% towards it's second 55 / or second years capitol increase requirement...or something like that. When I first saw these kinda numbers I thought/was hoppin' the same thing! It didn't take long to learn that just because they increase their capitol....it doesn't mean we'll see any of it!:worried: What you want to look for on that chart is where it says they are discussing free shares or dividends and the like! When I see that....then I get excited! Be PATIENT.....and they will come!
Probably NOT exactly what you wanted to here......but I Hope this helps:rolleyes:
Oh! By The Way.....
Up 23%!......Awesome!
