They will forgive 30% upon signing of notes by both governments. The next 30 percent will be cancelled once the Iraqi government argees to an International Monetary Fund program for lending, debt relief and budget structuring.

I read something similar before also, but this one had some different info and was dated the 29th so I thought I'd post it.
Sorry if it's old news, nobody has time to sort through all this stuff, I know I don't.

well this is good news....Japan will forgive 30% more debt, when Iraq meets the IMF venue...
it appears that " we " are not the only ones looking for a RV...or V

Japan is Paris Club member.
This is part of the 42 million announced last year.

I hope that this Saddam mess is cleaned up soon, the world knows that Iraq deserves a second chance. If I had a shoe close enought I would slap Saddam in his ugly mug!.
