Has anyone else recently not been able to get ISX stocks purchased...I already was only getting appx. 15% of the ones I submitted bought, but now cannot even get a report showing that any have been bought for over a week to a week and a half...Anyone with same or similar problems?

do you have a link or site for this broker?...because i just figured, even though warka may be very busy...a purchase is a purchase...and a stock is a stock...maybe they are just waitng on an rv at warka, so as to get more commissions, etc., etc?...or maybe they only cater predominately to the big purchasers?...does anyone truly know what is actually happening at warka???

There are some fees other brokers may not charge for management but here is a sample of service the past 2 weeks

Here is how last 2 weeks went. (3/12)
Open an acct- Emailed basic account open forms and within 24 hours I received my account number for Rabee Securities, a sub account for Dar Es Salam for my wires and included wire instructions.

Wire sent week later after funds collected- Wednesday (3/17)
Same day receipt to acct at HCBS. Email receipt from broker within 24 hours confirming amount received.
Buy Order forms attached for my coming purchases

Asked for current stock recommendations(Thurs 3/18)-
received next day reply(Fri 3/20)
Submitted orders Saturday (3/21)
Emailed yesterday (3/22)all orders filled with statement showing breakdown of shares/price/commissions/ and statement balance in a easy to read pdf

I received notification this morning of my stock purchase placed 3/17 for 600,000 shares (200k ea. / 3 companies). One of those was Basrah Bank which I think was there last day to list before their meeting to hopefully discuss 'free capital shares'. I still plan to fund an account with the broker Chaka uses but still trying to figure out the best way to do it. :smoke:

Tried for a 5 mil buy, got 1.3 deducted out of my account. Still not sure what I actually got (after two weeks). Since I went mainly for Economy Im not too alarmed.

2 trades, 50K CDN completed last 5 weeks with Karmal...trades always filled to 100% of satisfaction and notification always given within 24 hours...PLUS, with Karmal & Rabee, you get current financials (including quarterly financials) and individual & sector analysis from the broker.

I posted long ago that using Warka was like using a discount broker (perform your own research)...easy to do for U.S. stock, practically impossible to do for Iraq...why use Warka when they charge the same commission as independent brokers, yet provide no research data...and according to many folks here, rarely complete their orders to 100% of their client's satisfaction?...why settle for less?

With all the griping going on about Warka's ISX service, why are folks not getting themselves out of the proxy program (getting properly registered as a foreign investor) thus allowing themselves to transfer their portfolio to an independent ISX broker who offers far better service?

- With Warka
- Out of Proxy
- 2 Orders filled in past 6 trading sessions.
- Received all stocks that traded that day.

Observations:
1) New day, same post, same poster
2) There is the big leagues and the little leagues. Anyone trading 30K USD in a single trading session is going to get immediate attention compared to the peanut shells the rest of us request. And I consider any order under 5k USD peanuts. One pays for what one gets, lower fees or higher fees / apples and oranges.

Consistent good service with Karmal for me. All purchases in a timely manner. Good email feedback.

I agree, the bottom line is service-- what level do you want?

I read day after day of problems with warka, but it seems everyone wants to complain rather than do something about it-

I was tired of chasing down splits, updates from Warka so I sought an alternative.

Its not just a money issue- its a volume issue. They dont have the staff to meet demand. Considering my history assisting bringing the Warka/ISX to the forum- moving my portfolio should never been an option.

There are a few things I cant share with the forum about the early days of Warka/ISX.

Warka was essentially the first to work with foreigners regularly and this forum refined the process- but if no one is aware- the ISX has 50 brokers.

Alternatives do exist.
Until everything is electronic- people need to understand there will be some growing pains.
I just wish more would appreciate they even have this opportunity because what many are dealing with now pales in comparison to what the early folks went thru to get to this point.

Finally.....after over a week and a half; today, I got the excel spreadsheet, showing 6 stocks were purchased, out of the 29 of them that I requested to purchase! But thanks very much for the info. Chaka!

Does anyone know what it means when you go on to the ISX to the Daily analysis and hit down the bottom of not trading and your Company such as Basrah International Bank states that it stopped trading from the ISC.
My other question is, are my 500,000 shares still negotiable.

Chaka

Basra being forced to raise their capital from 55B to 75 B. Does not mean your shares are worthless. They will return once requirement has been met.

If they raise this money by offering shares for 1 dinar per share up to certain % of your holdings- they may be good buy as the share price is 1.3 now

Price will adjust down to offset the new shares but if its above 1- you're already ahead.

Lately most stocks offering these subscriptions were trading for less than 1 dinar per share and you would be overpaying

I have had some purchased through Warka recently but it is tough sledding to say the least. I am thinking of trying another broker. Karmal is one that has been recommended to me as a very good option by other members.

just had my 3/17 order go through warka, not even sure what i got for 1.6 mil dinar and i don't worry, they will get to me and they will iron things out, and if they don't, i will move on like some others.

having a million of thier shares,(apparently peanuts to some) why wouldn't i support them? :headbang:

Lets face it, Warka sucks. However I come at it from the perspective of a spoiled American a-hole used to telling some telephone banker at Wells Fargo or Chase to KMA and shove it when my balance is wrong or things are slow. :cool-too:

Warka's a bit slow, but so far, they have given great service. No complaints from me just yet... Just got some orders filled (one still outstanding) and they provided me with a completely updated excel spreadsheet for my portfolio.

I'm sure that when I move more money over there, I will get a little less patient. I just have not felt comfortable enough to really go for it just yet. Hearing the experiences of others with newer ISX brokers is good news indeed, and eases some of the apprehensiveness I feel.

Thanks to Chaka and all the other trailblazers out there! :handshake:

Chaka, thanks for tossing out a few nuggets, it's appreciated. As I wait for my passport, then papers, I'm spending all my free time researching ISX opportunities. Then BOOMMMM, you drop a bomb like this one...causing me to reconsider what I was taking for granted...nice eye opener.

my $$ is safer with warka-the largest bank in iraq for foreign investors then a brokerage firm. i am satisfied with their service. i had a long talk with mr i. he is aware of your complaints. there is much that goes on during the trading sessions...stick with warka-in the long run-you will be better off. as far as personal complaints-e-mail mr i with specifics-hell address the situation. it helped with my frustrations. i am a major player-were all major players!!
