just sent an email to warka isx department to purchase some shares and just received an email back. The subject title said **SPAM**
But the email said

Dear Mr. xxxxx,

Thank you for providing with your new stock order which will be executed as this Tuesday’s trading session dated 31st of March 2009 and the purchase details will be provided once we complete our standard working procedures.

Best regards,

ISX Department

I ordered some more stock yesterday (Sunday), received the same email as you this morning, with ****SPAM*** on the title. Didnt think anything of it really other than a bit strange.

I did cross my mind that as they have my passport photo they were maybe commenting on my lack of hair

Maybe they are trying to speed up their response time with a generic letter.

I dont know enough about computers and 'spam' and 'bugs' etc etc, but perhaps its a good idea to double check with Warka about your stock and bank account, in the light of all we keep hearing about internet fraud.

Dont hurt to be double safe, and if their is a sniff of trouble with Warka's end unless someone says something, they might not ever get to know.

I've gotten that "SPAM" message also, but I don't think it's an issue. However, I do have issue with Mr. I. and his staff.

I've sent over 14 messages over the last 4 weeks, 16 as of today to Mr. I at Al Warka and he hasn't responded to a single message. I know he received that last two I sent yesterday (Sunday). I'm beginning to think that there's something unethical going on if I ask them to sell 5,500,000 shares of Baghdad Bank over the last 4 weeks and he doesn't even acknowledge receiving the sell order. I've sent the same sell orders at least four times, but no response. Could it be that they have 'misplaced' the stock certificates after I've had them in their custody since Jan 2007? It's times like this that make me question the risk involved in dealing with a broker who could be untrustworthy, even fraudulently mis-representing stock transactions when they may not have even taken place.

Anyone have any thoughts on this issue regarding Warka's lack of timeliness and consistency? It's beginning to wear away at my patience with Al Warka and Mr. I and his staff.

Any constructive feedback would be welcome.

Have you tried picking up the phone and calling them. If I had some of the concerns that others on the forum are having, the first port of call would be a phone call.

I haven't decided for sure what is going on yet from all the complaints. Some are definitely human error, some are because Warka are understaffed and some are genuine and legitimate.

It's defining which is which and how serious this has really become.

You know, there are knowns and unknowns and unknown knowns etc..... :giggle: :smoke:

I recently renewened my expired on-line acess and I had no problem with spam attached. I also had sent a message asking about the Proxy stock purchase is still available and I am still able to purchase shares with a min. of 200,000 IQD per company.
I have a list I'm sending of the companies I hope to have purchased :mmm: and wish for the best.

The e-mail reply time was 2 days max.

..................does this mean Warka will ACTUALLY be Trading tomorrow? Or...as you said, could it just be an auto responder? I know today was Warka's last day it their general assembly meeting......so I would be kinda surprised (But PLEASED!) if Warka was actually open for business and trading tomorrow. I thought it used to take them quite awhile to get going after their general assembly meetings? We'll see!

Since I have dealt with these situations before, in other countries, for the last 8 months I am in dormant mode. No computer activity, never had on-line access, positions in place, only the most minimal simplistic communication when required.

I am not saying that this is what happened to Warka, but two items are big on the Internet right now:

60 minutes story The Internet is Infected
Lesley Stahl reports on computer viruses that propagate on the Internet and infect PCs, which enable their creators often called "cyber gangs" to learn the information they need to electronically rob bank accounts.

It would really be crappy, to say the least, if these cyber gangs rob our Warka Accounts on April 1st.
