I'm looking for input on cameras.

I've been looking for a camera for months (been a little side tracked). I've narrowed it down to digital SLR cameras. I'd like to stay under or around $600.

Anyone have a new camera that they love? Hate? And, why?

I would really appreciate some input especially on the real-life uses (positive and negative). Like is your camera easy to hold? Can it take fast pics. Blur? That kind of thing.

Any information on any camera would be great - doesn't just have to be an SLR. Also, I would like to know make - series numbers, etc.

Thanks in advance.

I just bought a Nikon P90 last week. It's not a DSLR, just a point and shoot, but it is marketed as a kind of hybrid between the two. They call it a bridge camera. It has automatic settings and well as alot of manual settings for the more advanced users. It's a 12 megapixel camera with a built in 24X optical zoom. It's main competition right now is the Olympus SP590UZ, which has a 26X zoom. I don't know a great deal about photography, so I figured this Nikon would be a good starting point for me, instead of jumping off the deep end with an expensive DSLR that requires alot of learning as well as the additional expense of lenses. I like the ergonomics of the P90 and the 3 inch tilt screen (it extends out and tilts so you can take pictures from different angles). I haven't used it that much, but I think it will be a good camera for my needs. I paid 400 bucks for it.

This is a good site for getting specs and reviews of digital cameras:

I also like this YouTube channel. They have alot of hands on camera reviews:

Thank you!

I take a lot of pictures for work AND a lot of pictures for everything else.

I need good clear pics for work. I want a camera that can handle action shots.

Again - thanks.
