Baghdad (NINA) Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki said that carrying out judicial orders against defendants is not aimed against a certain sect, and is not based on a stand against any side.

In a statement to the press on Friday, Dec. 21, in response to the arrest of members of the Finance Minister's bodyguards, Maliki said that some politicians fabricate political crisis whenever a measure, whether judicial or otherwise, is taken. Based on judicial orders, police force carried out its orders of arresting ten persons from the Finance Minister's bodyguards, after making sure of their identities.

Maliki added that to enable investigations take their course with the defendants, we warn from attempts by some from playing the sectarian sentiment to achieved political or personal goals.

On Thursday, a special military force raided the office of Finance Minister, Rafi al-Essawi, in the Green Zone, arresting a number of the Minister's office staff and bodyguards.
