Thanks mate, seems ridiculous to me, what is the problem? Is a broker the answer as GD mentioned? Think they have and will lose a lot of business due to folks getting forked off and not bothering.

You took too long getting in, in some ways you kinda missed the boat and are having to wait for the next one.

That may be RB but there are supposedly going to be a huge influx of investors in the near future with amendments to FIL and fully Electronic implementation so if at a quietish time I cannot get shares/stocks filled it will only get worse to the point where many will stick their money elsewhere.

I just don't agree. You're having problems because this is a transitional period, like Crow has said. 6 months ago it was a very different story

This market will be geared more toward large foreign institutional investors and the Iraqi individual investors. This situation so far has been unusual with small foreign investors being in a market such as this, this is a very rare occurrence. People fully positioned at this point should be very thankful.

In the near future small investors, Iraqi and foreign will be able to take advantage of investment funds that will be set up. This will make it easier and the small investor will be part of a diversified portfolio of Iraqi stocks.

I feel for you Adster.Should have gone with Karmal.Warka has gotten too big,too fast, and simply can NOT keep up with their orders.I have had this problem since early in the year.I have been trying to rearrange my portfolio before the market goes electronic-too NO avail.I have had orders in since April, and can NOT get them processed. We are talking about orders for 18 companies-two (2) have gone through.I would transfer to Karmal, but they require a passport, and I do not have one. So,I'm am stuck with the lousy service from Warka.I totally realize that Warka is the largest bank in Iraq, and is a good one-but NOT at the present time.Later, they will be great.I emailed Mr. I my dissatisfication, and got back a haute response.I then emailed him that it would probably be best if I transferred my account. He then responded with a much nicer email, stating that they had over 10,000 foreign customers,of which 5,000 were in the ISX.He further stated that Warka was opening around 130 new foreign accounts a day,of which his branch accounted for about 100 of these. I first tried to buy several stocks that were selling well under 1 dinar-both now they up 50%.Anyway,keep trying, and GOOD luck.

Sometimes you have to have "eyes wide open" and look at the broad picture to see the forest beyond the trees.

If you rely on this investment with the advice of members of a forum that the majority only a few months ago believed that an magnanomous RV was going to happen any day, Then I would recomend that you talk to a professional in your home country that has expertise in mid east markets

It took 13 submissions to Warka for Iraqi General Transportation and received half the shares I ordered. I was happy to get that. Next order I got full order of IGT on the first submission. This was a June 2009 order. Surprised me, I was geared up for a lot of submissions, also got Dar al Salaam and Land Transport in same order.
You never know, just keep trying, you'll get them.

I was shut out from 2 simple orders, Warka & Middle East Bank. Both had buy prices above their high of the day. More disappointing was that none of the new companies in the industry sector traded either...I'm putting in a new order, I'll know in another 2 weeks if I bought anything. I'm batting about 50% with trades going thru.

On the good side, I did get all of my certificates today from prior purchases!

Hey Kickabuck I was wondering how you got your stock cetificates did you ask for them or did they just send them to you. I have been invested since october-november 2008. I ask for warka to send me my updated portfolio on monday no response yet and also asked for my account to be re-enstated to take out my 15000 iqd and Mr.I responded that they are working on it and he would get back. These guys are so slow lately.

Hey Kickabuck I was wondering how you got your stock cetificates did you ask for them or did they just send them to you.

My first trade was executed 5/28/9 in my good name. Warka sent the stock certificates on their own (I didn't ask), about 2 weeks after the transaction. I have all certificates for orders executed 6/9 & prior, I'm just missing my Credit Bank purchase on the 18th.
