Arbil (Iraq News) A source at the Independent Electoral Commission of the (Iraq News) that "the Parliament of the Kurdistan Region made a formal request to the Office of the province to make the elections on parliamentary and presidential elections in July 25 days for a referendum on the Constitution"
Parliament ratified the region In 24/6/2009 to draft the Constitution of Kurdistan Region
Where 96 voted in favor of a member of the total 97 members attended the meeting and the Constitution consists of 122 articles within 8 sections.
The Speaker of the Parliament of Kurdistan, said earlier that "the draft Constitution of the separation of powers between the region and developed the mechanisms for the protection of human rights and respect for the principles of freedom and democracy and the establishment of a constitutional court."
And on the rights of other nationalities to the Speaker of Parliament said that "the rights of the Turkmen and Assyrians, Chaldeans, Syriac and Armenian are guaranteed in the Constitution of the Kurdistan region and in the Constitution of the Territory"
