Iraq Parliment Could Delay Opening Of Isx

Nothing has been reported on the long awaited announcement for opening trade in the ISX. No word seems to have come out from the Cabinet. Today's reports in local newspapers indicate that the cabinet has set up an economic commission to guide on economic policy and examine critical economic decisions which may need to go before the newly set up parliament. The wait for opening up thus may be longer then anticipated if the cabinet sees it prudent to put the issue before parliament. According to the same newspapers reports, parliament in its first sessions has just turned down proposal to monetize the regressive food rationing system. The ISX of course has been reacting to these developments which may explain the gradual decline in prices.
