I think I read that Pepsi bought them out. I know the name changed, just don't know it. I think I saw it as NORTH SOFT DRINKS. Tony would know.

Fifteen million shares were traded today in Pepsi Baghdad at an average price of ID23.250. The stock closed at ID 22.85. Today is the last day of trade in this stock as the company will be closed for trade because of going into general assembly scheduled for September 22. There is confusion whether the company is going to issue new shares in the scheduled general assembly. According to some circulating reports the meeting may decide on a 100% new issue of shares, may be in a split. This however has not been included in the agenda of the general assembly invitation letter to the meeting published in several newspapers. Investors and brokers alike have voiced their displeasure with lack of clarity on this issue. Pepsi Baghdad has few major shareholders; among them is the well known Buniah family.

I knew this stock would go far from way back when... It is the first stock to allready consider a split. This general assembly with the news media invitation may be about the ISX relase on the world market as was stated in the asia news post.

There is apparaently Pepsi Baghdad and Pepsi north as we see here...

"Stocks of Pepsi North and Basra bank have made their debut into the trade hall of the ISX for the first time since the exchange was reopened on June 24. Four contracts involving 115000 shares of Pepsi North were struck at an average price of ID 23.15 and the stock closed at ID22. Pepsi North is a bottler of soft drinks based in the northern towns of Mosul and Kirkuk where the company has two plants. When last traded before the war it fetched around ID 13. The company has an outstanding number of shares equal to 1350 million each carrying a par value of ID1. Current market value of the company is $20 million at ID22 share price. This compares with $158 million capitalization value of its big sister Pepsi Baghdad. The company, officially called Northern Beverages Drinks, made a loss during 2003 to an amount of $100,000 primarily because of production disruption during the war. Its plant in Kirkuk has been looted in disturbances in the aftermath of the war. The amount of damage is not known in detail.

They are trading seprately but very close to one another. As of right now (if the market were to open today) you only would be able to purchase Pepsi North as Pepsi Baghdad is closed for Trade untill Sept 22.

I dont understand how the CPA has yet to close a bid for the contract for the ISX network at the end of Sept. And yet have the ISX open at the same time unless the contract was being awarded to "Manage the Network" not build it.

Could be Sept 22...

I hope you all have your requests in with R as to what stock you want (just in case)

Hope this was helpful...
