Hello from the uk,
Great forum with good info. I have lots of Dinar that I am trying to keep hold of, but everytime I tell friends and family, they want to buy some.
I've been buying and selling for 25 years and the Dinar is the strangest thing I've ever tried, everything else I sell I want to move on as fast as possible to make my profit, but if I sell a 25000 note for £20 today, will it be worth £1000 tomorrow! It's driving me crazy:crying: .
Anyway, a question that people keep asking me is, if it is illegal to take more than 100,000 dinars out of the country, how will banks be able to change millions of dinar when it floats.
Could somebody please help me with this please:o

I think there is some confusion. It's against the law to carry that much out (physically) of the country even if it is trading on the international market.
However, if you are in country and want to cash in you can simply open a Warka bank account and do bank transfers.
Outside of Iraq you can simply go to any instutition that does forency trading and cash out there.

I am having the same problem with friends and family. Everytime I get a million or so, friends or family come along and ask if I can sell them small amounts like 100,000 dinars or so. I do not want to give up my dinars!!! So I have ordered a few million for them and it looks like there will be a few hundred thousand left from what I charged...guess who gets to keep it!?!

Hello,
I'm posting in response to this post and another one "CNN Money Expert" (Newbie here not allowed to post in this forum :( ) posted by 'Shotgunsusie'
in which she stated..
"umm, since compass bank is selling dinar here in the usa as are other financial institutions, does that mean they are black market sellers and they are enabling us to 'harbor smuggled goods in a foreign country'??
and here i would have sworn they were legitimate financial institutions! "
I myself purchased my dinar from a Money Exchange Service in the US that is registered with the U.S. Treasury who will also exchange my dinar when the demand for such a service becomes apparent. Now my question is...if they are registered with the U.S. Treasury how can this be illegal purchasing them here in the U.S? They state on their website that they purchase their dinar through Iraq and that they are one of the largest distributors of the New Iraqi Dinar in the US and abroad.
Any thoughts?
Regards
