Iraq to produce 2.5 million oil bpd by end of 2006

(MENAFN) The Iraqi finance minister said that his country hopes to produce at least 2.5 million barrels of oil a day by the end of 2006 but will need significant foreign investment to reach that target, Forbes reported.
Iraqi Oil Minister earlier this month said the country hoped to turn out 3 million barrels a day by the end of 2006 and 3.5 million by December 2007, compared with current production of about 2 million barrels a day.
