Sounds like you're trying to 'double-up' your Investment Bank Free Shares!:wondering:

Next think you know you'll try to 'double-up' the IQD RV to $6-$7 USD when EVERYONE knows it's going to be 1 IQD = $3.46 USD!

I do 'always' accept food that's left on my doorstep, however, this is the ISX!

I carefully pick and choose what I want and I was more interested in the Paid Up Capital Shares from Economy Bank - especially when I know that they apply the Free Capital Shares percentage to my existing shares AND the Paid Up Capital Shares combined!

Economy Bank gave 72.5% (I received 73%) Free Shares and they offered 63% Paid Up Shares (which I accepted).

Warka, for some reason, adds any Paid Up Shares (if you wanted them) to shares that you already own and THEN they give you the Free Shares based on your NEW total.

So, 'if' you had 1,000,000 shares of Economy Bank, then:

1,000,000 shares x 63% Paid Up Shares = 1,630,000 shares.
1,630,000 shares x 73% Free Shares = 2,819,900 Total Shares
Current Value = 6,288,377 IQD ($5,374.68)

'If' you had 1,000,000 shares of Investment Bank, then:
1,000,000 shares x 12% Paid Up Shares = 1,120,000 shares.
1,120,000 shares x 20% Free Shares = 1,344,000 Total Shares
Current Value = 1,800,960 IQD ($1,539.28)

Economy Bank 'was' trading at approximately 4 IQD before the Paid/Free Shares and now trades at 2.23 IQD. Investment Bank was trading at approximately 1.6 before the Paid/Free Shares and now trades at 1.34. The Paid Up Shares for both was 1 IQD, however, there were far more offered with Economy Bank and the potential profit return was higher 'if' I were to sell the Paid Up Shares - which I will NOT! I am still in acculation mode and am not very interested in Paid Up shares of companies that are currently trading at just over 1 IQD.

Admittedly, I did pay MORE for Economy Bank to begin with (2.27 IQD) compared to Investment Bank (1.31), however, after my numerous Free Shares and Paid Up Shares, Economy Bank is down to 1.17 IQD and Investment Bank is down to 0.94 in my portfolio.

If I had UNLIMITED funds, then I would simply buy anything that came along (for the most part), however, since I do not, then I pick and choose very carefully what I want to buy (Paid Up Shares).

I do recommend that anyone who has small quantities of shares to take advantage of the Paid Up Shares, especially if the current share price is HIGHER than the 1 IQD for the Paid Up Shares. It is a great way to build up your portfolio at a discounted price.

I'm still reading...we need more posts like this, posts that take time and thought to absorb. Really cool of you to share the stats and lend the insight, thank you for the detail. I'm tossing 24MM, Crow, & Seaview aside, you are my new "Leader"...this week anyway . What a great group of people we have here...this should make people think...and rethink their investment strategies., you don't mind if I call you "Mark" do you?

Don't throw them aside, even just for this week!

Each offers very important information and insight and I wouldn't have many of my current stocks if not for Crow! Whether he likes it or not, he gets the credit that's due him! Looking back, alot of what was said and offered by him (and others) was common sense, but I was doing more listening than thinking and I got very lucky! Seaview has been diligent in finding very important articles and always has excellent input and 24mm is a very valuable and logical member of this forum!

I can't tell you how many times I've woken up from my Over The Sand Dune Dream and realized that I saw Crow there, and Seaview, and 24mm... oh my! Puppy Stew gives me the strangest dreams!

Buck up buddy, you need to be prepared when others lean on you for advice in the near future. Your bank stocks are just what Mark  outlined... But, be patient, not everyone will understand why "paid up" shares should be passed up! I didn't :yelrotflmao: lol, I love being a rookie

The minimum purchase for bank/company shares is 200,000 shares.

Most Paid Up Capital Shares offers have been over 20%. I would NOT be interested in, nor did I participate in the following Paid Up Shares offers:

Iraqi Islamic Bank
Baghdad Soft Drinks
Summer Commercial Bank
National Bank
... etc.

I have over 1,000,000 shares of each. I do not want to pay more for a stock than what I can buy it for, nor, am I in a rush to participate in Paid Up Shares of something that I am able to normally buy at around 1 IQD.

At any given time, I only have so much IQD in my Warka Account. Because of this, when an offer comes up, I decide whether it is truly worth the purchase. It can be argued that a Paid Up Share for 1 IQD is a good deal on a stock that normally trades at 1.25 IQD as that is a 25% Profit Potential 'should' I decide to sell it (it is VERY unusual for me to sell a stock), but USUALLY when a stock comes back after a Free or Paid Up offering it comes back low and might stay that way for a while. Bank stocks are not Rare or hard to come by (for the most part), so I would rather skip the small offerings and hold out for larger ones:

Karbala Hotels
Economy Bank
United Bank
Modern Construction
Carton Products
Ashour Hotel
...etc.

That being said, if I only had 5,000 or 30,000 or 200,000 shares of any company offering Paid Up Shares, then YES, I would most likely buy what I could because I may not want or be able to afford the 200,000 share minimum.

It truly depends on your position and what you are trying to accomplish. For me, in many cases, it just doesn't make much sense for me to use the IQD that I have in the bank for something that is for sale somewhere near the 1 IQD Paid Up Share offer price.

I am VERY sure that MANY of the stocks on the ISX are going to be worth MANY times their current value, but if you owned and could spend 100,000 IQD on an offering from Iraqi Islamic Bank -or- on an offering from Ashour Hotels... which would you take???

Iraqi Islamic Bank (I do not know if the word 'investment' is within this banks name)

I'll be more than happy to hang around at the back of the Al-Marmoura queue with you though instead !
