I am an old fashioned kind of fella. I stick with the banks, I have made 200% in the last four years, so about 50% per year. I am hoping for this to increase to 100% per year, for the next 7-10 years. My top three would be.
Warka
MEIB
Bank of Baghdad
Goodluck.

Going to change the subject here slightly. Based on existing circumstances, gold / silver and other PM will likely out perform stocks in the next six to 12 months. (Note: Not PM stocks or PM ETFs, but actual bullion, rounds & bars).
Have to remember, now that Ob is in charge, Hell to the USA is a local phone call. Just wait until you see the next stimulus package, Cap & Trade.
I like to think that Iraq is its own special place and has so much potential that they can prosper while the rest of the world's financial situations burn to the ground.
Like it or not, Iraq is affected by the world wide depression. When that is over, then ISX will be set to make significant profits.
Anyway, that's my opinion, I really, REALLY hope I am 100% wrong, but the writing is on the wall.

Don't worry, you are wrong. Gold is on the slide. You can double your money if gold go's to $2400....yeaaay! This is the bottom for Iraq. It doesn't get much.... lower.

So does anyone have any solutions or forecast to what plays to make in the ISX?

Yes I have, appreciation of the dinar (since it was 1480 to 1 when I started) and free shares. Warka paid 70% just in one year.
i dont think you have made 200% on bank shares in the last 4 years

as I repeat
200% increase is not possible
Buck has been here since 2005 and has posted his returns as they occurred.
I see no reason to doubt his figures as he has a track record.
Actually I have done rather well investing in Warka Cd's. If you had just $1 and purchase a 1485 dinar CD from Warka in the latter part of 2004 you could have got 15 percent in 2005 and 2006. 16% in 2007 and 17% in 2008 and 2009. 1485 dinar would now be worth 3118.54 dinar divided by todays rate of 1170 would be $2.67. Thats almost a triple in 5 years. With some very slight appreciation and the new one year CD for 2010 that will be ~ 3 times the investment in 6 years. Don't know of anything that has done any better.
I do have ISX stock investments but they are only a small part of what I have invested in Warka CD's

you have used the word " if " but in actual fact have you from day 1 late 2004 (i doubt anybody has done this from day 1 )
foreign investment was only introduced late 2006 ??????
as i have said it is impossible to show a 200% profit on bank shares as stated by Buck
this is a great website but unfortunately some like to exagerate the facts
Unfortunately you are misinformed and its your knowledge thats exaggerated. If you knew as much as you think you do you would know that some of us never brought any cash dinar as we knew it was a con. However we did open Warka interest bearing accounts for the high interest rates. As for Buck he buys and sells the market and knows how it works. He is not a newbie that thinks a stock has to go up 200% to make 200% on the stocks. Did you ever hear of sell the highs buy the dips, splits and free shares. You might want to pay a little attention to Buck and Cowpoke as they are far more knowledgeable than most here when it come to investing in the ISX. And don't forget Chaka as he was one of the first in the ISX and brought the information to the forum.
I was invested in warka at the end of 2004. I joined the forum in 2005. The word if was for the example. I doubt you have been around too long or you would know that my earnings have been posted with CD rates and compound interest rates since 2005. I recently withdrew my initial investment with Warka for another venture, however the profit I have left in 10% Cd's is a considerable sum and more than 40K
I have in fact done exactly that since 2004.
