EVERTON 1 - 0 ARSENAL Kickoff 12:45pm 21st Jan 06, Attendance 36,920

The Blues maintained their 100 per cent record in the Premiership in 2006 with a thrilling 1-0 victory over the Gunners at Goodison.

A James Beattie strike after just 12 minutes proved the difference on the day.

CINDERLION did you travel to Goodison or just watch it on TV?

Watched it on Telly. We got what we deserved ..nothing. Well done the toffees.
I only go to home games, next one being Wigan on Tuesday, followed by Bolton, Liverpool, Charlton.
Plus hopefully the Madrid game and all of the remaining league games at Highbury..

Cinderlion, I watched it on TV as well. I had a Season Ticket for the 2003-2004 season, but I can’t afford it these days, especially since I started buying Dinar. 2003-2004 season was the one where we finished seventeenth with the lowest amount of points in the Premiership. We played alright at home it was only away games where we played terrible. I thought this season was going to be similar to that one but things aren’t looking too bad now. Anyway, since Arsenal are an English team in Europe, I’ll be supporting them against Real Madrid.

Cinderlion, I’m going to the Everton versus Manchester City match on Saturday, it’s the first time I’ve been in over a year. I want to predict a win for Everton but I think a draw may be more realistic. I say that because Manchester City played well against Newcastle and Joey Barton has a lot to prove to City fans after he asked for a transfer. But most significantly were short of forwards:

Marcus Bent – Sold to Charlton

James Beattie – Injured, will undergo late fitness test

Duncan Ferguson – Suspended for next three matches

James McFadden – Hasn’t been a regular first team player, and has been played on the wing recently instead of up front

James Vaughan – The Premierships youngest scorer, but hasn’t much first team experience

Victor Anichebe – 15 appearances for reserves, no first team experience

I think any Everton goals will most likely come from midfield with Tim Cahill as the favourite to score first.

Anyway, Arsenal has been on a bad run lately, hopefully for Gunners fans they will find their form before they play Real Madrid. Any idea what the problem is with Sol Campbell? He’ll have to sort himself out and focus on the games ahead if he wants a first team place for both Arsenal and England.

Campbell has been dependable for his club teams and for the national team over the years so I hope he gets back to his best soon. Sol didn’t play quite as badly as Rio Ferdinand though, you only usually see mistakes like his in Non-League or Welsh Football.

Sol apparently has personnal problems that are affecting his game. Not usre if i buy that. We are making it tough for ourselves..Not going to be a good season by our standards. Went to the Wigan game played well and got beat, should have beat west ham again faltered.. My next game is Bolton then Liverpool Charlton and Villa, going to try and get Madrid tickets. But on our current form we will get turned over. Still as they say through thick and thin.
Enjoy the man city game..

Manchester City arrived at Goodison in a rich vein of form - but it wasn't enough to halt the unbeaten run of an Everton side growing in confidence with every game.

David Weir set the Toffees on the road to their fifth win from six Premiership outings with his first goal of the season in the eighth minute.

But that was just part of the story in a game that ran hot and cold. There were long periods when neither goal was threatened. But when it sparked into life it was thrilling to behold.
