The Japanese credit rating agency (JCR) is prepared to soon review Turkey's foreign currency credit note, which currently stands at BB-.
JCR determined Turkey's outlook as "positive" and is pleased with developments in the country's economy. Therefore, the agency will review its credit note with the tendency for an upgrade.
Turkey-European Union relations, reform programs, the IMF-backed economic program and Turkey's "geopolitical" significance are considered as criteria for "positive developments". High public debt, foreign debt, and the possible impact of instability in Iraq are enumerated as negative factors
