It must also impact their email system...Mr I is out of office, and c.accounts@warka-bank-iq.com, doesn't care to respond either.

Yippie kai-yay!!
4 years, same old same old, in fact worse of the same old.. This jaded American wants upgrades to their online service and faster response to my emails. Oh yeah, forgot, emerging market in a war torn country. How long is that excuse going to go on.

lol, are you related to lgwzrd?
I agree things could be better...what's the old saying, if you want things done right, do them yourself. There's no reason to be jaded, you havent been screwed out of your money...yet

Good point. Perhaps Warka is trying, but why are services, such as asking for updates on my stocks held in proxy, not just slow but impossible to get, when 3 years ago they would email back updates? Sure they will take your money and put it into an account, and yes they do wire money back in reasonable time, but their brokerage system needs a lot of work.

Because they take too many holidays over there and are always behind on their work
I'm guessing their email is full too...it's just as slow at times.
I really haven't heard of a better option though...I hear bad stories from other brokers too. Unless you go with Rabee who has a 100K minimum opening balance.

You're lucky, H20. I sent my request on 1/17 and still haven't received it. Sent the original to MKI and he is 'out of the office'. I have not received my Dar Al Salam (sp?) update either and my last name begins with 'D.' It is frustrating dealing with them and they are much less efficient than they were back in 2005 when I first opened my savings and ISX accounts. I know they have grown significantly but they should expand and train their staff accordingly, imo.

Kick, is Rabee requiring 100k USD to open?

Let me answer that one as it was possibly myself that was behind KB's comment.
I applied to Rabee Securities to take over my quite large account, but they refused me on the basis that their minimum account size was $100K. My current portfolio is worth less than that but not massively less.
They were extremely short in their reply to me and made it clear that they only deal with $100K minimums.
I am not sure if that is because I was intending to simply transfer shares over to them, rather than buy from scratch. I do wonder what would have been the response had I had say $70k in cash to put over to them instead.

Thanks 24, it's important we share our experiences...and rip all the brokers, not just warka
p.s. Did you see the ISX4 thread on United? Good profit numbers rolling in

Yes, indeed I did. How good does that 300% deal look in hindsight !!!!
At the moment, despite my all round disastisfaction with Warka, there doesn't appear to be a reliable enough alternative. The first native English speaking broker to set up shop on the ISX, offering Western standards of service is going to make a killing.

Rabee Securities does state they req a min 100K to open a account... if that is the case I SHOULD BE A MILLIONAIRE THEN... I INVESTED IN WARKA WHEN NOBODY WOULD PLUS OTHER BANKS!!! THIS IS INSANE

True Dat. I guess it's take it or leave it. It's still okay to whine, complain, and vent about it I hope, yah?? As far as "investing" 100k into any brokerage, I'd want to be flown in, wined, dined, and given front row tickets to the next game.

I thought that was only happening in the million dollar club. Guess I pick the wrong banks. Last time I opened an account with a bank I walked out with a George Foreman Grill. Yippee....

If you could have bought stock in "Charlie Sheen Enterprises" a long time ago you'd be filthy rich. As big a druggie, whoremonger, and worthless individual he is and he still pretty much gets away with whatever he wants, including "rehab at home" and a ridiculous salary to do a stupid TV show. Now that's a good stock.

you know, one of the problems with having more money than god-is what to do with it. if you like to party-and can afford to party hardy-the decadence is never fulfilled. in the entertainment business; sex, drugs and rock & roll have cost many talented people their lives....and the lives of those around them. responsibility is not taught in school-it is absorbed thru the family...or found thru experience. i remember the 80's and what it was like in the legal community to earn a mil or more a year.....well, my friends remind me of what it was like-a lot of it is still a blur:blush:

Agreed, but perhaps Mr. I's reply to me sheds some light or excuse (whichever you prefer):
“Emails directed to the non-related departments will be removed automatically by our web administrator noting that in accordance with our working procedures senior executive do not handle customer inquiries where it is important to direct your email to the related department at our bank.” – Mr. I - 10/25/2010.
Hey, I'm just the messenger, so do with that what you will...

Mr I & Warka's accounts Dept contacted me yesterday, they're back to the typical service I'm used to...not too bad.
