Iraq Delays First Parliament Meeting; Leaders Discuss PM Choice
March 7 (Bloomberg) -- Iraq delayed the first meeting of the country's new parliament after its leaders failed to reach agreement on who would lead the next government.
A new date may be set on March 16, parliament speaker Hajim al-Hassani told reporters in Baghdad today, according to a statement e-mailed from his office.
``Talks are on going between the main blocs in the coming parliament,'' al-Hassani said. ``We hope that during the coming days, we'll reach a level of agreement on when to call the Council of Representatives to convene.''
