A member of a UK group with alleged links to al-Qaeda was involved in a plot to buy an atomic bomb, a jury at the Old Bailey has been told.

The plan was to buy it from the Russian mafia in Belgium, the jury heard.

Frightening!!

Yes, it's frightening when you think of the possibilities. It's truly frightening when you consider that some of these basket cases could actually be contemplating such a thing. I could only image what the world wide repercussions would be like if something along the lines of the Madrid bombings took place on 11 March 2004, but with 'suitcase size' nuclear devices. It would spell the end of pro-immigration legislation all over Europe and North America, and the beginning of a wave of anti-Islamic sentiment all over the western world; the likes of which we haven't seen since the middle ages. This could result in the expulsion of all islamics from Europe and North America, especially those who were non-citizens, on national security grounds.

If the agenda of these miscreants is to create an environment of hatred and intolerance, the couldn't have thought of a better medium than nuclear blackmail. Now, I can honestly empathize with President Bush's policy of 'pre-emptive' striking at potential enemy targets before they attack the west. I really don't see any realistic alternative to the threat of nuclear blackmail by radical militant anti-western groups hell bent on creating caos and destruction in the west, except through the use of precision strikes aimed at dismembering their offensive capabilities, at home and abroad.

Sincerely,

And some on this forum contend the US is the terrorist threat. I could not agree with you more IID. I may add that where ever these groups are found they need to be dealt with and done swiftly if possible.
