HE Dr. Barham Ahmed Saleh, President of the Kurdistan Regional Government, accompanied by Hamid al-Bayati, Iraq's ambassador to the United Nations and Qubad Talabani, representative of the Regional Government in Washington, on Wednesday, 2/11/2011, New York City, by the American Foreign Policy Council, an institution dedicated to policy-making in the U.S. the field of international relations.
During the meeting which was attended by a significant number of known political figures, investors and representatives of companies and media outlets, brought to the President of the Kurdistan Regional Government of light on the political situation in Iraq and the region, in general, noting that the Middle East is currently undergoing radical changes and rapid, describing it as the beginning of a new phase.
Dr. Barham Saleh to attend that despite the achievements, Iraq needs the cooperation and support of civil society in the field of institution-building and the embodiment of democracy and international relations.
With regard to the situation in the Kurdistan Region The President of the Kurdistan Regional Government that the Government has made progress in a vast region in the political and economic growth, as evidenced by the Kurdistan Region and there is strong opposition to play an important role, parallel to the role of political forces and civil society organizations.
On the economic side, trade and the large gains achieved in the region, especially in the field of energy in the world, Dr. Barham Saleh said the province has become the focus of attention and the attention of the world, adding that the provincial government agreed with the federal government to address the problems of the oil and gas,
and in this regard, Dr. Barham Salih, to expect the possibility to experience the region made significant progress in the export of oil and gas, and significant participation in the revenues of Iraq, General,
