In another aspect of the meeting, they discussed the recent changes taking place in the Middle East and Arab world, describing it as the beginning of a new era of democracy and public freedoms and human rights, and respect the will of the people and meet their requirements.

At the end of the meeting, the White House announced officially that the Vice President received the President of the Kurdistan Regional Government, and that the two sides discussed a number of common issues, including the strategic agreement between Iraq and America, also noted that U.S. Vice President praised the role of active and vital to the Kurdistan Region and the historical relations between the two Kurdish and the U.S..
