There will be attacks forever on the pipelines even when security increases. That is where teh money and power reside. Instead of patching them perhaps they should replace them with larger diameter and thicker walled pipe to handle an increase in pressure if they can ramp up the actual production rate as they predict then they would be able to handle the increased pressure.
