Title: Trump reveals Dubai tower joint venture

Here's the link: http://news.moneycentral.msn.com/provider/providerarticle.asp?Feed=FT&Date=20060502&ID=5688335

This is very significant. Let me quote from the article, "... the Trump Organisation on Tuesday switched its focus to Dubai when it announced plans for a $600m tower that will become the centrepiece of the Palm, the largest man-made island in the world."

This is very bullish for the GCC nations and bullish for Iraq as well. It further states, "About 5.5m tourists visit Dubai each year. The emirate expects this to rise to 15m by 2010." That's the same year that the GCC is due to debut their new currency.

I wonder if they'll call the new currency "The Donald"? I wonder if "The Donald" has invested in IQD/NID?

Sincerely,

He's investing in Dubai, not Iraq. One has nothing to do with the other. Just because the ethnic background is pretty much the same in both countries, it doesn't mean their currencies react the same way. That's like taking out an Iraqi dictator because the guy who orchestrated 911 has his base of operations in Afghanistan---ah, too late.

Wait a second. Dubai is an island city on the coast of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). That nation or hodpodge of sultanates/emirates belongs to the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). That organization consists of five other nations that border the Persian Gulf. Iraq also borders the Persian Gulf as does Iran. Iraq has a very good possibility of joining the GCC at least in an observer status in the not too distant future (personal opinion). Should they join on or about 2010, it will certainly have a bearing on investment capital flowing into this general area. That it turn will accelerate economic development, which will brings prosperity to the people living there. Furthermore, foreign tourists may stay in Dubai, or skip over to Iraq, and look around where Babylon used to sit, or walk over to look at some of the treasures of Iraq as they munch on baklava.

So I think it's significant, and bullish for Iraq in general. The more prosperity in this area, the better for Iraq's currency in the long run.... higher GDP = higher currency valuation.

I saw Trump about 2 weeks ago on an interview. He was totally bashing Iraq. Saying it will be a civil war, and that it was a lost cause and a complete failure. So he was totally Bush & Iraq bashing. He had better not have any dinars. Because he dose not deserve them!!!!!!!!!!

I think "The Donald" is placating to the Dems very anti-anything-Bush platform even if any point of GWB's policies have any merit. GWB is suffering from the lowest ratings of his tenure as president and the Dems are jumping all over the opportunity to snatch votes away from the Republicans for this year's coming elections. "The Donald" lives in NYC which is home to one of the largest populations of Dems anywhere on planet earth, and he's playing up to them. Right now, everybody in NYC is ragging against GWB for the highest gasoline prices in the nation! He's just showboating and jumping on the I-hate-GWB-bandwagon. I'm sure he knows what's going on in Iraq, and I don't seriously believe that he thinks there's going to be a civil war over there. Trump is a first class politician and a mediocre investor.

That's my 2 dinars worth.

Cheers.
