1. NewsMax Poll: Strong U.S. Support for Bombing Iran

An Internet poll sponsored by NewsMax.com reveals that Americans are overwhelmingly in favor of the United States undertaking military action to stop Iran's nuclear weapons program.

Nearly 60,000 people have taken part in the poll so far, and more than nine out of 10 say U.S. efforts to contain Iran's weapons program are not working.

A large majority of respondents also believe that Iran poses a greater threat than Saddam Hussein did before the Iraq War.

NewsMax will provide the results of this poll to major media and share them with radio talk-show hosts across the country.

Not Working: 93 percent

2) Should the United States rely solely on the U.N. to stop Iran's nuclear weapons program?
Yes: 11 percent

No: 12 percent

4) Should the U.S. undertake military action against Iran to stop their program?

yes, lets light that place up
no ground forces and no rebuild
first a few ECM to take out all electronics, no communications
You can't launch missiles without electronics.
a few underground nukes to take out the facilities.

To tell you the truth if they just thought that we would do this they would back down. But thanks to the media and the rest of the world it looks like they will take the same path as Saddam.
So gas will be $6 dollars a gal for awhile, just suck it up

My fear is we will do nothing, The word is they are waiting for a Dem in the White House.

waiting for a dem in the white house?? just might happen if the republicans don't start to show some backbone here. it is discouraging to vote and then see your elected officials do NOTHING to stop the dems from winning the day. why aren't we ending filibusters, closing the borders, sending illegals back?? because the republican party and the democrat (not democratic ) are becoming one and the same and neither has our freedoms or best interests in mind.

Charlie Cook Sees GOP Problems in '06 Elections {note from sogrgirl: no link because it was an email... but it is also from newsmax}

Signs are pointing to a bumpy ride for Republicans in this year's midterm elections - and voter turnout could turn out to be a major problem.

That's the word from pundit Charlie Cook, writer of the "Off to the Races" column for the Washington, D.C.-based National Journal Group.

Cook points to a new Cook Political Report/RT Strategies national survey of more than 1,000 adults, which found that 60 percent of Democrats said they were "most likely" to vote in November, compared to only 51 percent of Republicans.

That amounts to a sharp departure from the last two elections, when Republicans turned out in higher numbers.

"History tells us that when one party is either complacent or disillusioned, and the other party is highly motivated, agitated or angry, the results can be devastating to the former while providing boundless opportunities for the latter," Cook writes.

RT Strategies also found that 49 percent of registered voters said they would like to see the Democrats in control of Congress after the elections, compared to 37 percent who favored Republicans.

And when asked if they planned to vote for the Democratic candidate for Congress or the Republican, 50 percent of "most likely" voters said Democrat and 32 percent said Republican.

The GOP faces not only serious misgivings among voters about the war in Iraq, but also "a combination of Social Security, mounting budget deficits, Hurricane Katrina, Harriet Miers, port security, immigration, gasoline prices and various scandals," according to Cook.

President Bush is perceived as strong in the war on terrorism, but only 7 percent of respondents selected terrorism as the one issue that will matter most in deciding how to vote for the U.S. House in November.

The poll also showed that only 25 percent of registered voters would definitely vote to re-elect their member of Congress, while 36 percent said they would consider voting for another candidate and 21 percent they would definitely vote for someone else - an ominous finding for the incumbent party.

this poll concerns me as i don't see the dems having a candidate or an agenda worthy of electing into public office... but the republicans aren't there for us at all either... third party?? we had better begin to pray for a strong, charismatic leader (uh-oh, shades of the "end times" here...) to lead us through this minefield. is there such a person?? i really thought bush would do it, but unfortunately he has been wavering.

and, tmorr37, i agree, we shouldn't plan to rebuild iran, just do the job and get out, no troops just high tech warfare. do we have a leader that can carry this off??????????

My Speculation:

China is # 1 ecomonic threat to the U.S. As history, itself, have had prove that U.S. tried numberous efforts to ugre China to raise their currency values or trade fairness which remain struggling.

China have their reasons for not support U.S. to spank Iran's butts. Suppose if an eye-drop bombed Iran or Sanction in effect on Iran then Iran jack up oil price. Imagine how much oil price China will end up paying? That ultimately will affect their economic in big time! For that probably would benefit for those who invest Yuan? That makes sense to my opinion.

About Russia, I am somewhat puzzled with that one. First of all above, I dearly hope that this will not put us back into Cold War Era again!

I suspect that Iran may have done terrible a lot of business with Russia's products (ie: military equipments, planes, and etc) In return Russia doing oil business with Iran. ??? I would like someone to input some sight their opinion and senses about Russia for not being such supportive with U.S.?

old habits and old friends. No cold war. the don't have the money to do it. they never did . In part it was fake for the Russians. and the cold war put them in the hole that they are in now. They stand to make money by selling their old military junk to them. I would not worry about Russia. Soon they will be making plenty with us. China is another story. I believe we are feeding our enemy. If china does not work with us then we should add a tax to the products. This will hurt the wall mart shoppers for sure. But could push new business in countries who like us. . Or even send it to Mexico. If there is lots of work there making all the junk we buy. Maybe it will help keep the Illegals over there. As far as oil goes . we have plenty here in the usa. just look in Utah. there is an exploding business there. towns are popping up. projected to be more oil in Utah then in Iran its self. Fox News Quote. My .02 cents.

Well I don't know the amount of Oil, but I do know the homes in the area are going through the roof due to the plant facility that is being built. My parents were looking at a home that had been sitting there for a while and then the prices in he town went through the roof. The reality they were talking to told them about the oil fields going in. It was not long after I seen it on fox news. There are lots of oil fields there. don't you know they find dinosaurs there all the time? no joke. well I am buying a 6 bed 3 bath home with 82 acres there for 180k ( no this is not near the fields if it was it would sell for 4 mill.) There is lots of oil here in the USA just cost more to fight all the lawsuits from the wackos then it is worth getting .

yeah...lets put us even more in debt then what we are with iraq...I think war is not the answer...if at worst we should lock all players in a room and do not let them out until they come to a resolution.
