Once this revals, if we do want to sell the dinar we have, where can you sell it to make some profits. I'm sure this is old hat for most here but I haven't found where we can sell once the profits are realized.

Personally, I have a buy and hold strategy but you never know if something comes up personally. Want to know what my options are should I need to sell after profits are realized.

P.S. Long live the Iragi Investor Forum - whoo hoo !!!

Many thanks guys,

E-Boy

Once it becomes tradable you should be able to change your Dinars at any bank that deals with international funds. If not at a bank, maybe American Express. I change money at their offices all over the world.

Don't worry, just like there are many dealers and forums that will sell to you now at a large profit, they will surely all come around again. Once they have an avenue of exchange, they will buy back from you at an even better profit, you can count on it. The impatient and uninformed will exchange back to dollars at any rate put in front of them. My opinion, doing your homework once the time comes will pay for itself.

If you google foreign currency exchange you can take your pick. Once it becomes convertible then probably 85-90% of these will exchange. Most are already dealing in currency exchanges and will add the Iraqi dinar to their list of changable currencies. Most are in any major metropolitan city or airline hub city. Teh availability will be there don't worry.

i'll take mine in small quantities to Atlantic City, NJ(i live nearby) and exchange it at the casinos. Several of them are equipped to change currency.
i probably won't get the best rate, but that's OK with me.

Interesting,

That is the question everyone wants to know. (g) I think we should open a pool and see who comes the closest. I say 17 days. (g)

Good luck to all, Mike

 I am getting to know the kind of people that a lot of you are.
Most of you are greedy, to some degree "impatient", Iraqi dinar holders. (oh course, I include myself). And, there is one other thing, a well informed group (FORUM), of everything concerning Iraq economic news.

One thing for sure.....when the value of the dinar climbs higher and the first US bank that begins exchanging the dinar is known, and reported here, many of you will verify this news and report back here on this Forum that you have verified this. When that happens, many of you and myself will find ourselves in line at that bank with dinar in hand, waiting to start exchanging some of our holdings. It will be a pleasure to be able to meet many of you at the bank. See you then!

I took a couple of 25K dinar notes in to my local Bank of America branch back in November of last year. I explained what they were and that they were not internationally traded yet. I just wanted to see if they had any info on them. Sure enough they had examples of every single new dinar note in their foreign currency books with descriptions of the security features, etc.. And this was at the teller counter. I did not even have to speak to a manager or customer service rep. They confirmed that they are not allowed to take them yet, but it appeared to me that they are quite ready to go and just waiting for the green light. And this was months ago.

Now all you "Doubting Thomas'" *********.
There's no need to insult those who don't accept what has yet to happen as fact. The 'fact' that a bank will be exchanging a world currency does not speak to the value of that currency. We still have a long way to go. Rude comments don't translate to anything for certain where this speculation is concerned.

A) That comment was not directed towards those that don't believe. It was directed at those that don't search for information, then question an answer like "very few banks have commited at this point"

B) If those that this applies to feel insulted over this comment...
1) I apologize. It was not intended to injur any feelings
2) You should really consider therapy if you're that sensative, as that was quite mild for this forum

I don't need therapy and don't need snide comments to follow rude ones. I just thought it was rude for THIS or any forum. Your tactic of attacking others, then telling them to calm down is juvenile at best. Have a nice day!

Wow!

As I said, many have been much worse on this forum.

I accept your condemnation of my behavior.

I will never, ever behave badly toward another individual or group again in my life.

Nor will I ever make any kind of statement directed at no one in particular that someone could misconstrue as being a provocative attack towards them.

You have succeeded in changing the world as seen through your eyes, one person at a time.

Good Job!!!!

I'm like this if ( by some weird chance ) that i cant find a bank to actually do an exchange then for the profit that im going to be making I'll fly back to iraq to do an exchange there. but i dont think thats going to be nessary as im sure there will be a back somewhere in the US that will exchange it
