On July 18 Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister Dr. Barham Saleh chaired the first meeting of the Power and Oil Committee. Members of the Committee include ministers of oil, finance, electricity, trade, justice, planning and developing cooperation.
The Iraqi Central Bank Governor, Chairman of the South Oil Company and a representative of the Kurdistan Region also attended.
During the meeting, the committee discussed the current status of both sectors as well as methods of developing the sectors while promoting them to meet the needs of Iraqi citizens.
