Love them 'cause' 1 day a rumor will come true:happy64:
Yuck. Gimme facts only. My ship is coming in, it's a matter of time ... I'll wait. Don't need a rumor to get hyped me up. For me, reading rumors is becoming like "same song, second verse" ... same questions, same answers, same comebacks, same attitude.:drunk: Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuut, I still read em ... (cause I hafta). lol

Rumors tend to offer some relief from all the possible negative aspects of this investment. I do find interesting that rumors almost always seem to be positive in nature while nayayers like Dinar_Time approach this as overwhelmingly negative. Maybe thats why he hates rumors! By Jov I think i got!

I like to hear them sometimes because some of them are really good, but on the other hand they are responsible for false hope and ignorant decisions. Whatever with rumors.
by "overheating" some members, causing them to enter an irrationally exuberant state.
In this state, large quantities of totally useless posts & polls are created & posted.
The quantity of these dubious posts & polls is troublesome and quite frankly, embarrassing to the integrity of this forum.
Keep it up, and this forum will sink to the same freak show (one sided opinion only / never an intelligent debate / verbal bullying / more rumour posting than factual news / incompetent investing advice ) level others have.

If you do not agree with the post you can ignore it. Why are you and Dinar_Time always bashing and talking down on new members? Everyone has just as much right to post on this forum as you two. Just because everyone else is not as literally inclined, or takes the time to use elaborate or unnecessary verbage to get a simple point across, does not mean they are ignorant or have no right to be on here.
Maybe you guys should pass these posts by and keep working on your New Member applications, to keep us people out of here.
BTW Dinar_Time I like your Signature, I am pretty sure everyone that has purchased Dinars is an investor!!

lurking here a scant 4 months to understand how long this has been a problem...I must admit however, in the last 4 months, as we near many important milestones, the hype is getting worse.
Perhaps you could show me where in my original post, I singled out new members?...I didn't, you just assumed...and you assumed incorrectly.
You have assumed that you understand my position, and felt it necessary to launch into a personal attack on me.
I have reviewed your posts...all 12 of them.
I did find an introductory post, some supportive posts, a few where you offer a hint of an opinion.
I also found a post where you eschew another member for possibly "making a bad name for new members" because the new member asked a question of the membership, rather than using the search function.
To quote, you told the new member "You really should search before you open threads on old subjects."
Perhaps, before you attack existing members, you should heed your own advice and perform some research yourself.
This forum exists due to the efforts of a core of individuals who did an enormous amount of research & efforts of a few individuals, who were here long before both you & I.
A good forum member will try to help shoulder the load.
What is it that you, lurking for 4 months, and being a member for a few weeks, have brought to this forum?...other than criticize a few member's opinions.
The forum is about education, not about yeasayers & naysayers.
With respect to your comment about "working on your New Member applications, to keep us people out of here",

I must say I dislike rumors, I like Facts, give me a news article that says something true and factual. I didnt invest in the Dinar based on a Rumor, but on on a long hard think, weighing out the pros and cons of the investment checking history. Talking it over with friends and family that gave me good advise.
Yeah I read rumors, got caught up when I first came to the board believing people. but now I shake my head basically at the rumors going If you don't have a link with real hard facts then pfft

No matter what eventually happens with the dinar it's been fun. I live in a smallish house with several four legged animals (I rescue feral kittens) and two family members. I have had a blast looking at floor plan books to choose one to build. The dreams we have shared have been wonderful, even if it falls through this will still have been a great year.
Believe me I'm hoping and praying for a wonderful outcome. If our wildest dreams come true we will have a lot more to look forward to. With the financial security our desired outcome would bring we can do a lot of good in our communities.
The rumours just feed the dreams and that is fine until we know the final answer. I really don't like the idea of someone sitting at their keyboard making up rumours, just to stir the pot.
Hoping for a great rumour to become fact really,
really soon.
It's late and this probably is one messed up post, but oh well.
LADY D
Fifty / Fifty with rumors, read them all, 50% I dont know about, 50% I cant make my mind up about, so I suppose i'm 100% uncertain really, well anyway keep them coming perhaps they might be like the dream and come true soon.
Well 50% of them anyway.

Bingo! You nailed it.
Let's not forget the pioneers of this forum. With the due diligence and hard work of a few everyone of us have been provided with a huge amount of information and a unique opportunity to make the most out of this 'venture'.
Instead, ATTITUDES have gotten in the way. COMMON SENSE has been thrown out the window. POINTING FINGERS and not taking RESPONSIBILITY for one's own actions seem to have become the norm, especially in the RUMORS FORUM.
I blame both sides for making this a yeasayer/naysayer place. It seems that each 'group' is becoming more focused on who's on what side, thus making the division deeper instead of, like F355 eluded to, shouldering the load TOGETHER. The ones on the fence that aren't a yeasayer/naysayer see this clearly.
How 'bout instead of jumping all over each other for this or that (most of its minor piddly stuff anyways) we get over ourselves, become the 'better man' and work together. After all, we have the same interest do we not?
I think those who have been here long enough see that the Rumor Section pretty much brought on the division as we now see it. Noooo? Maybe it's just me.
Personally, I don't need something like a rumor to get me excited about the dinar. I feel that someday it'll all pan out nicely. Until then, there's nothing I can do to hurry it along. No sense in letting it consume me. No sense in making the rollercoaster more than it already is.
What gets me is the member who buys into a rumor then gets upset at the person who "led them on". Am I the only one that sees it's not the fault of the rumor sharer but the person who made the decision to buy into it in the first place? Yes, rumors feed dreams for some but they also give false hope to others that don't think clearly.
While I'm at it. What is up with the sensitivity level? People making snide comments, others saying "now I know why I don't post much". Crazy. Wonder if it'd be any different if we were all in the same room together. Bet that'd be "interesting".
I'm a firm believer that any kind of investment shouldn't be an emotional thing and I see that happening with MANY members. They allow themselves to be sucked into hoping and believing in something that is not backed up by fact and then the emotions get in the way.
My longwindedness again ..... sawwy.

RET - I've been a tax accountant and financial planner for 29 years. Money brings out emotions in unbelievable levels in everyone. It ruins marriages, loving relationships between siblings, business dealings, etc, all because of the emotions. I don't think that will ever change as the world goes round.
But, I firmly agree that there is no reason for becoming antagonistic, hurtful, vengeful, accusatory, rude and spiteful as we have seen on the Rumor Thread.
I agree, put all these people in a room together and I should hope some degree of sanity would prevail and we would all realize we all have the same goals.
I am sure your post will calm down many for a while, but as everything heats up and the closer to a peg or reval, you will probably have to come back on and slap some hands again for typing items that they really probably would never say outloud to someone.:happy64:

Just the facts, please. I see it this way: For me, if I need to rely on rumors and made-up stories to 'feel good' about my financial decisions, then I did not do my due diligence before I jumped in. For me, when and if that were to happen, it would be time to re-evaluate my position based on facts and world events, not an anonymous, rumor-infested, internet forum. (Both sides of that spectrum can be found, both here and elsewhere)

you posted your opinion and then called it a fact. Thats goes far beyond what your crying about. You made mention as to why the dinar would be zero lopped and you called it the thruth. :shhh:
so let me get this strait you make a rumor section just so that it has to be filled with facts lots of luck
The rumor forum was created because members were posting RUMORS within threads that contained factual posts/findings. The two were separated so that members could choose to read the fantasy section or fact section of the forum (LOL). Problem is, when the RUMOR SECTION was created, many lost their heads ... and several still haven't located them. :drunk:
Don't believe anyone said that the rumor section has to be filled with facts. I think what's being said is some members prefer only the facts ... therefore they personally don't see the need for a rumors forum. Which is fine. To each his own. I think what some see, and others do not, is it's not the rumor that's presented per say that's the "problem", it's the way everyone responds to it. ;)

Thank You Ret. P/M was created for those personalized statements, we don't need to be read their personal disagreements.
I don't think most of us mind the "naysayers" voicing their opinions. I think where it gets unpleasant when they want to beat us over the head with. Go a head state it once in a thread (short and sweet is better then a long lecture) then leave the "yeasayers" alone. Heck just put a cautionary statement in your sig box "diversify" "only invest what you can afford to lose" etc.and post it as often in a thread as you feel the need.
I think we all get tired of scrolling through long post, after post quoting the entire long. long rebuttals between yeasayers and naysayers.
The "yeasayers" need to allow the "naysayers" their one posted opinion (per thread) without pouncing on them, and a some common courtesy would go long way towards stopping all the nonsense.
About the Rumours:
I sincerely hope there aren't members sitting at their keyboard making up rumours. I would like to think they are posting what they hear from sources (not forums). We can't know this for sure and we all need to practice financial responsibility and patience with this investment.
In time we will have the answers we're waiting for. Let's not shoot the messengers on either side :-)

I think you have hit on a very important point...calling everyone who doesn't agree with every 'pie in the sky' theory out there, a naysayer. What I am reading from this, is that it's fine to post daydreams and wishes and guesses, but don't dare post anything to disagree. And if you do, do it once and shut up. Am I reading this wrong? Personally, I see 90% of those who are called 'naysayers' as simply being more 'grounded' in their theories, and not led by fantasy. This is an investment. These are serious world events. Although all the get-rich-quick daydreams are a huge part of this, I think it's that end of the spectrum that makes most of the threads useless reading. So, you see, there are many ways to view all of this.
Lady D
08-03-2006, 02:30 PM
We are talking the about Rumours here. If the more grounded members feel the need to protect all the pie in the sky types fine. They should state their opiinions in EVERY thread they want to, but reading the arguements gets old.
They state their opinions we read them that is great, Unfortunately some keep posting their opinion repeatedly in the same rumour thread, it;s like a nagging wife no one enjoys it or even listens after a while. Shoot go a head and post their op. every 25 post if they think someone might have missed it, and post their cautionary sig every other post if they so desire.
We're all grownups and we have all gone into this hoping for a great return on our investment. We don't need to make each others lives miserable while we wait.
BTW I am not a yeasayer or a naysayer. I am fully aware that they may lop zero's, I just hope that they don't. If they do well it's been a nice dream.

I like rumors. With so much bad news coming at me from all directions, a rumor can brighten my day a bit. Do I bank on rumors? Nooo, don't let's be silly! Rumors are strictly a buyer beware situation--believe them at your own risk.
As far as naysayers, and yeasayers...well, I think the problem comes when people start making it personal. Someone takes a contrary opinion PERSONNALLY and then we have pages and pages of agonizing reading.
Can't we just agree to disagree? Is it really neccessary to be RIGHT?
So far NO ONE's been proven to be RIGHT or WRONG here...
I mean, until BIG WAVE posts it with a link, it's all pretty much just hearsay and conjecture, isn't it? :lmao: (ps BIG WAVE, we think you're dreamy!)
