Just a few questions :p

When the rv happens how will we know?

will we have to keep checking the cbi site?

and is there anyway to be notified when it happens?

When the rv happens, will it be open for trade in the worldwide market?

When it does open for trade in the world market will we have to be quick or will it remain open for a while?

when the rv happens is there any chance of it going back down?

Don't worry. When it happens you will know about it immediately because it will be blasted all over the forum. Then the investigations will begin to see what our next move is. You will be well informed as soon as the iraqi cat is out of the bag.

I check the CBI around 4 AM if I'm up and if not around 6 AM. So I figure I might be one of the first people to find it at 4 AM.

I plan to be standing at the BOA's front door the day it happens. If we all cash in at the same time it may temporairily influence the exchange rate from what I have heard. I'm not an expert just passing on what I have read here on the forum in the past.

Central Bank of Iraq they have daily auctions. They auction off dinars for US dollars. That is where we can see the exchange rate for the day. Auctions are normally held Sunday through Thursday except on their numerous holidays.

The CBI web-site is where you will first see when the IQD hits the International market.....the final call is theirs.

They will decide what the dinar is to be revalued to. Shabibi is the head of the CBI, he's the man you want to be praying will give us a 'biggy' so to speak. :D

I'm going to wait about two weeks after the reval to start taking it to the bank to see if the exchange rate surges higher at first. That would be my expectation of what will hapeen in the near term. And I will only exchange small quantities at first. I would not want to show up at the bank with several million dinar at one time so that I'm not under suspicion of money laundering!

Offload bigger notes first, first 25k notes then 10k notes. The 25k note will be withdrawn first. :huge:

USAkidd- you make a good point. I read that a central bank revalues a currency and puts the currency on a 30-day response to see market reaction. After the 30-day revalue they can decide to LOWER or RAISE depending on reaction. I think too that additional raises will follow fast track.:happy64:

I agree. This is what I thought....was a bit disappointed when there wasn't any info here...but it appears the good people on this forum have answered the questions pretty well....

agreed. If the RV is in the range I"m hoping for, I'll be the first in line at the bank to dump most or all of my dinar.....
