Yes, Chief Jay was class all the way.

Meeting Bruno would be awesome!

Here's some Bruno stuff.

Bruno Sammartino is considered by many to be the greatest WW(W)F champion of all-time. "The Italian Superman" (Sammartino was born in Abruzzi, Italy and immigrated to the U.S. at the age of 15) began his career in 1959, and won his first World Wide Wrestling Federation Heavyweight championship on May 17, 1963 by defeating (in record time) "Nature Boy" Buddy Rogers in front of a captivated Madison Square Garden crowd. Bruno, already incredibly popular and respected after only 4 years in the sport, went on to establish the brand new W.W.W.F. and gave credibility to Vince McMahon Sr.'s new heavyweight championship by building a WWWF fan base unlike anyone else until Hulk Hogan. The hugely popular Sammartino (who still holds the WWF record for most MSG sellouts) went on to hold the WWWF title for 7 straight years. In the end, Sammartino held the WWWF gold for 11 years all total, during two reigns, resulting in more WWF records that will likely never be broken...

THOSE WERE THE DAYS!!!

Billy White Wolf now goes by The Sheik Adnan El Kassey.Which is from Bagdad. I talked to him many times about the Iraqi Dinar and he thinks that is a great investment.:happy64:

A great read. The Shiek of Bagdad.

Fame, fortune, murder and mayhem are all part of The Sheik of Baghdad, the amazing journey of Adnan Al-Kaissy and his unbelievable life story as told through the sport of wrestling.

Born in Iraq, Adnan Al-Kaissy was raised in privilege and knew Saddam Hussein as a young man. Because he excelled in athletics, he came to the United States to wrestle collegiately at Oklahoma State University, and later earned his masters degree at the University of Oregon. Taking up professional wrestling to earn some extra money, he decided to return home to his native Iraq in the late 1960s to visit his family, and inadvertantly sealed his own fate in the process when Saddam, now the country's dictator, instructed him to wrestle for Iraq.

Al-Kaissy became a sort of modern day rock star. Thousands of fans followed him wherever he went and his wrestling matches in Baghdad's Al Shaab Stadium drew more than 200,000 fans. As a result of his success, Adnan was given riches, a new mansion, and even a prominent position within the Baath Party as the Director of the Ministry of Youth. But his celebrity became a double-edged sword when he became too popular in the mind of the murderous dictator. Leaving more than $2 million in the bank and fleeing the country in the middle of the night via Kuwait, dodging snipers and assassins, he bribed his way out and never looked back.

With no money and no one to turn to, Adnan made his way to America, where he started over as a professional wrestler. First as "Chief Billy White Wolf" and later as "The Sheik," Adnan spent the next several decades as a notorious villain in the exciting and unpredictable world of sports entertainment. A pay-per-vew spectacle grossing nearly $150 million, death threats, hate mail, a call from the U.S. State Department and an internal identity struggle were all part of the spectacle.

As an Iraqi-American, Adnan has tremendous insight into the political and ideological differences which seem to divide the United States and the Middle East. Adnan is a peace loving man and is anxious to tell his incredible story to the world.

Holy crap! Bruno Sammartino! I had an instant childhood flashback once I hear his name. I wasn't necessarily around during his peak days because I started watching wrestling in the mid 80's but he was definitely a known legend who made appearances every now and then.

One of my favorites back then was Mr. Wonderful Paul Orndorff.

My dad wrestled professionally with a wrestler named the Great Scott when alive in the 50's which was entirely different than today from the stories he would tell me stories and we would go to the Summit in Houston to watch Jimmy the Superfly Snooka and Ivan Putzky and Andre the giant who for small kids and grown ups alike was truly a giant. JYD was just hitting the scene when I stopped followign it but my son has begun so now it is coming back into our lives again.

The classic and I do not know how long he has wrestled or under how many different names has got to be Hulk Hogan. He stinks as an actor and should have stuck to wrestling.

Yep its called Hogan knows best on VH1 from what I remember.

He's currently on RAW and will be at Summerslam on Sunday night in a match against Randy Orton. Sadly it is merely an attempt at promoting his daughters fledgeling music career.

I am very good friends with Kurt Angle. Once a year, we would have a dinner to raise money for the YMCA. He was one of our guests of honor when the fund raiser was in its infancy. He wasn't a fake wrestler at the time. After that year, he would come to the fund raiser even though he wasn't a guest of honor. I had always admired that about him; however, when we would go out for drinks, I didn't admire the things he did then. But hey, I am not about to be critical to a gold medalist face, for obvious reasons.

So what was Kurt getting up to while going out drinking eh PennState?

Wasnt one of them the Texas Tornado? was the claw thing the head squeezing hold rather than the mandible claw?

Oh yeah, sure, you just want him to put me in a full nelson and then snap my neck.

Actually, he was doing things to women that an involved man should not be doing. He didn't sleep with them, but he woudl have been fired for sexual harassment if he worked in any other position at a different organization (except for the office of the President of the United States).

talking of neck snapping, whatever happened to chris masters? one minute he's in a cage match with cena for the title, now he's completely off the map.

Here is what happened to the Von Erich Boys
1. September 19, 1997: Fritz von Erich was found dead at his home in Lake Dallas
2. February 18, 1993: Kerry von Erich took his own life and died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest. He was 33 years old
3. September 12, 1991: Chris von Erich committed suicide by shooting himself he was only 21.
4. February 10, 1984: David (25) was found dead in Japan, the victim of acute enteritis, a severe inflamation of the intestines
5. 1959: Jack Adkisson Jr. dies at the age of 7 from electrical shock..

They should make a movie about this family, what a shame.
