On Aug 16, 2006 the value of the dinar was 1476.
Today Aug 27, 2006 the value of the dinar was 1479.
I would think that a 3 point downward movement is not a good thing for us investors.
I can't come up with a reason what is making the value go down:confused:
Anyone with an educated guess please way in.

You're watching the micro-management exercise by the CBI in controlling the dinar during the early stages of reconstruction. These numbers mean very little to those speculating in an RV. If interested in the RV, better to watch the massive infrastructure rebuilding, the huge effort to put together a government and all the other forces and momentum which will bring about an RV, hopefully soon. After an RV, then one can begin watching price fluctuations as many investors will be focusing on the dinar as an investment.

your right there.
As far as the minute fluxuation it has gone from 1477 to 1478 quite a lot, it happens all the time.

Yeah seems to be pretty much the norm, it bounces all over the place.

I check the value almost weekly and keep an excell sheet log. The value is all over the place. But.. it always seems to bounce back. Keep them in the safe and dont get to worried about movement.

Absolutely! Well said 40!! To get a feel for what is happenning, check out the threads in the Economy and Govt/Society sections. It's those articles that keep me positive--rumors are great, but it's the progress--albeit slow progress, that keeps me going.

It's possible that the dollar is stronger at that point and buys more Dinar...IMO

I probably should have invested in a copy of investing for dummys prior to having gone out and aquired 500,000 dinars (not to much...i know.JEJE). I dont know much about this sort of stuff (currency fluctuations and investing) so i wanted to know what does RV stand for and i would it affect the value of mu 500,000 dinars. Thank you very much.

Remember we are all in this early. People will be talking about this 10-20-30 years from now, wishing they had the forethought. :huge:

I've seen shifts up and down all the time. It would be better if it kept shifting down however! That dollar/dinar ratio needs to steadily drop closer to 1:1!

RV simply means revalue. When a new currency is brought to the world market they try to revalue their currency to what they feel is able to be sustained. It includes but not limited to the economic stability of the countries exports.
Many other people know a heck of a lot more than I do about that subject but that is the simple answer.
