Baghdad: Iraq's Prime Minister plans to reshuffle his Cabinet just 100 days after it was formed because of frustrations with some ministers' performance and disloyalty among others, Deputy Prime Minister Barham Salih told Reuters.

"Some people have a foot in the government and a foot outside," Salih said. "They have to make a choice. Either they are part of the government and abide by the policies of the government or be outside the government.

"My hope is that all elements of the Iraqi polity will be genuinely united and committed to the government for national reconciliation. Those who are committed to that, their role in government should be enhanced."
A senior official in Al Maliki's United Alliance, said he expected some changes to be announced before Parliament reconvenes in a week after its summer recess. One minister from Al Sadr movement, the transport minister, has already resigned, officials said.

What does every one think about this? Will this delay our dinar going up in value? I mentioned on another thread about the gas and oil investment law will be delayed until early 07. How about the Foreign Investment Law for every thing else. Is it delayed because of the shake up or not. I guess we will just have to wait to see. Enough of this for today. I'm going bike riding. Later all.

I personally never have expected a revalve anytime soon. I take the rumors very lightly. Your investment in dinar's will pay off down the road. Be patient.

2007 is too far off, this will happen sooner rather than later, inflation has to be brought under control and the bonds are only a short term cure. No reason why a r/v and the FIL cannot go hand in hand. As for the reshuffle that has nothing to do with a r/v. That can come after.

I agree. It's been said time and again that the planning for a reval is mid 2006. The re-shuffle won't have any effect on this.

Looks like the shake-up is over.

BAGHDAD (AP) -- Iraq's firebrand Sunni parliament speaker will not be removed from his post, a legislator from the country's most powerful political bloc said Friday.
Key politicians from the Shiite United Iraqi Alliance have been calling for the replacement of Tayseer al-Mashhadani, whose comments about the insurgency and regional self-rule have angered and embarrassed Shiite and Kurdish groups.
But Hasan al-Shemari of the Shiite alliance said Friday that al-Mashhadani had been given a second chance.
Al-Mashhadani "promised the political blocs to avoid individualism and politically incorrect statements," al-Shemari said. "The political blocs have the right to replace him ... but he won't be changed due to his promise."
