nice link stalyn! ... will watch closely ... after looking at the attendant charts, macro trends continue to look good ... even iraqi civilian casualty numbers don't look too bad despite the fact that the chucklehead brigades are targeting their own folks (or perhaps more likely, the foreign fighters are targeting iraqi civilians!) ... recommendation: for those who want a more realistic picture of what's going on day-to-day, i recommend monitoring such quantitative indices as portrayed herein juxtaposed against info contained on a number of iraqi blogs (emphasis on indigenous iraqi blogs) ... add a careful dose of mainstream news and you should see a more reasonable view of ground truth ... if this sounds condescending, accept my apologies up front :o ; otherwise, i hope its useful ... oh yeah, and if you have access to the Economist magazine's economic intelligence unit reports, factor them into your analytical calculus!

Make that a VERY careful dose of main stream media!!! The media does an aweful job of portraying what is going on!!!

true, true, true! ... i only say this because in order to do good analysis one must consider all, repeat all, data points ... and despite their biases, there are tidbits of useful info there! ... virtually everyone on this board strikes me as down-to-earth, albeit perhaps a little idiosyncratic in some instances :D, well able to filter out bogus info ... but buyer beware if you don't at least acknowledge the data conveyed through these sources ... no to worry: i know that's not what you suggest!
