Iraqi Parliament Demands Clear Apology From Pope
I am surprised that the Iraqi Government was offended by the reference to Islamic or Muslim extremism. They, of all Muslim countries ought to be on the side of moderation. If the Pope's words applied to on the ground events, Iraq would be that place. Maybe the Iraqi government doesn't think there is anything wrong with the violence in their country?

If you were the pope you'd be, "God on Earth."
If that's not blasphemous tell me what is.

I'm getting pretty darn tired of hearing the constant drone from the Middle East for everyone else to correct their actions, when they clearly can't stop killing themselves and others. Each day the negative stereotypes that they complain about are perpetuated each day through their own actions.
I'm not Catholic, but the Pope is absolutely correct.

I am not Catholic....
but I think the Pope should stick to his Guns about what he said.
He said NOTHING that wasn't HISTORICALLY TRUE!
Besides...He gave them an appropriate Apology....they shouldn't have been Offended just because he stated an HISTORICAL FACT!
As Far as Retraction!?
He should be Required to Retract his statement...
When Mahmoud Retracts his comments about Erasing Israel from the face of the Earth...and 'Death to All infidels'(Non-Muslim) World Citizens!
And the 'Dumb Liberals' believe him when he says ...he is building Nuclear Materials for Peaceful Purposes!?
Wake Up Infidels!!
That Bud is for YOU!!:shhh:

I'm sorry you can't think for yourself.
I'm sorry you can't accuratey read a transcript.
I'm sorry it's easier for you to rely on what others tell you than what was actually said.
Here's an excellent analysis of the Pope's comments which were misunderstood by Muslims and Catholics as well:
