Hopefully, it's because we are going to see a RV tonight when the Aussie Forex opens, but they might not have held auctions today because of the wide range of curfews.

Does anybody know if during curfews in the past the auctions were held?

Probably because of the curfew. Hopefully it will not last too long.

Joel, Is this a new holiday? I like the fact that it is named "Prosperity". If it was just for Sadaam's sentencing , it might be called"Justice".

In addition, it seems odd that a court would be open on a holiday...

The fact that the CBI did not hold an auction and the ISX is closed on Monday and the final fifth Economic "effects of reform on employment" symposium is to be Mon. Nov. 6 2006 is all adding up in favor of the RV.

A new day is dawning for Iraq. I believe that the CBI and ISX have conducted their normal business during curfews in the past.

Honestly, this is the first I've heard of it, but but I don't believe it's new. Here's another read on it.

No, they typically carry Sunday's results over to Monday due to the New York market

The price stays the same Sunday to Monday due to the weekend in New York. The auction results are posted for Sunday and then for Monday.

but not unusual either. The normal activity is for a sunday auction, but they have been known to not post one during severe curfews (daytime and nightime) and holidays. The holidays and curfews have played havoc on their normal routines. You will need to go back to August / September to see their more normal activity.

I hope things are going the way we are hoping for everyone's sake Iraq and those of us here.

This is an email from MR. I, From Warka

Thank you for providing me with the needed information your cooperation is much appreciated.

Due to their general curfew imposed by the Iraqi Government because of the court sentencing of the dictator and members of the previous regime all government and private sectors will be closed.

Please note that there will be no trading tomorrow and your latest stock order will be executed in Wednesday trading session 8th of November 2006.

The Trade Bank doesn't show the price of the Dinar... before it had scrolling quotes of the dinar, oil, and new feeds. Now, nothing....

Well believe what you want, I think even after the 8th we will still be waiting on the dinar to reval. All hell is going to break loose over here in Iraq. The curfew will be lifted later this afternoon which is Monday for all you folks in the United States. I along with the rest of staff that purchased the dinar believe it will take at least one more year for it to happen, however I hope we are wrong.

It is really funny to see the tide shift or shall I say the power shift, all Sunnis are begging for Sudam and all the Shiites are dancing in the streets and firing weapons.
