I wouldn't get too excited just yet. On January 15th of 2004 the rate was 1,350 to the dollar.

The trend is in the right direction and other indicators are looking good, but we are a far cry from anything newsworthy as far as a revaluation of real worth.
Many times over the past years we have had movement that brought hope but eventually vanished like a vapor in the wind. I do appreciate your optomism though.

Don't worry. I think we'll make a dollar or two on this deal. It just may not be right now. There will be other deals after this one.

And the old saying goes, "never put all of your eggs in one basket". I say divercify. If you have 100 investments and 99 go south, It only takes ONE going north. Keep up the positive outlook.

you see a lot of people bought in b/c someone said "its gonna peg!!!!' hurry, hurry b/4 its too late!!!! others heard these words and are patient. ever so patient. it will happen when it does and not 1 min b/4. this is long term. some good folks here have been waiting 3 yrs. those who bought in this year are just starting to pay there dues. maybe ill post something re the 2 sides of green (wealth). i read a lot of posts from you all hoping and praying and desperately needing this to happen now. this is not how this will work. there has been too much bs and propaganda banterred about NOW NOW NOW!! be still like the H2O, and $$ will flow your way. now i must go and lecture the field mice on the avoidance of snakes.

Get use to it,but maybe we will get a burp!

While the rate was 1350 in Jan 2004, Iraq did NOT have:
A constitution
3 democratic elections
Most debts cancelled
a prime minister and cabinet
Saddam convicted
trillions of Dinar sold
a trained military & police force
ISX on line
Numerous investment laws ratified
etc, etc, etc

These reasons are exactly why the improvement in the exchange rate we're seeing now really matters!

It still keeps going up in value, and we have never actually watched a currency so we still are not sure how this is going to pan out, but if current indications are a sign of whats to come, looks like there are going to be some millionares on this board....

I have been looking at the previous daily exchange rates and from jan to may 04 the market was all over the place and settled down during the month of may 04. The market has fluctuated between the 1460's - 1480's for 2 1/2 years with a mild drop into the 1450's for 10 days in june of 04.
The last time the rate was below its current rate of 1449 was april 29, 2004. In charting a commodity you look for different things that will show movement. Its amazing but the charting of any commodity you can pick out many different formations (double tops or bottoms, etc). This graph has stayed in a snaking movement between the 60's and 80's for 2 1/2 years, and what an investor looks for in this type of situation is a breaking out point from the 60 to 80 range either up or down. And typically the trend will head in the direction it breaks out in and continue in that direction usually as long as the horizontal snake that preceded it.
This is a little different because were trading something that is not on the world market but heading that way very soon...just an observation...

Hi Michwlv,
As one of those 'Old 2004s', yup I'm still here waiting & will wait however long it takes but at least we are closer to the RV now than we are to the start of it all. When I started this investment I was just out of nappies (diapers for you guys from the States), I'm now running-in my new zimmerframe & telling the youngsters, who only started this year, to speak up while I turn up my hearing aid.
Having seen a dramatic acceleration of, at last, official information over the last 3 months, moreso than the previous nigh on 3 years, I feel that an RV higher than I originally anticipated is imminent.
Here's hoping for a big one.

I remember walking down the exchange streets of Kuwait City and getting my first glimpse of the pink paper back in '04. I also remember being on the edge of my seat for bout 4 months afterward. I used to check this site (after truck and barter shut down) like it was crack. After a few fake-outs and let-downs I just observed and hoped.
I have found a new excitement this last month. So much is happening and coming together. I am still amazed by how this Isn't being talked about yet by the MSM. Something is up and I am "almost" back to the edge of my seat!!:happy64:
Good luck all...Old and Young, and remember...keep it down:shhh:
