View Full Version : Is there no more un-circulated Dinar available?

I have steadily being buying dinar over the past year, but have noticed my last two purchases over the past month or so has given me used notes (not the crisp un-circulated notes that I have been used to receiving). Both of my last two purchases have been from the Halifax and Barclays Banks, which in previous months have given me new un-circulated notes.
I am wondering if anyone else has seen this trend in the past month and could it be a sign that the dinar is becoming less readily available, perhaps because the CBI is holding such large amounts back. (Or is it just because the currency is naturally starting to age, with no new notes being produced).
This also opens up another question of how long does the average note last for in normal use and is there an ongoing printing of the current dinar notes that replaces worn out notes. (Perhaps there is no need to replace the notes that were produced three years ago because they may be soon slowly withdrawn due to a re-val?).
Any feed-back will be much appreciated. Thanks.

Albert,
I buy from chase here in the states. Ive also noticed this trend. Yesterday I picked up my order, a small one, and the 25000 notes were not uncirculated. They a little crinkled, and one had some arabic writing & numbers on it.

Wow, thanks for the quick reply.
Yes I was a little worried because mine also have lots of writing on them. I hope this will not give me any problems if I ever have to hand them in.
MY last gew purchases have been new uncirculated, for what its worth

My last two recent purchases from the Halifax were all uncirculated 10,000s apart from one 25,000 note.

Thanks for the feedback. It does seem that uncirculated dinar is now becoming more scarce. Looks like I am going to have to get the ironing board out.

So it is looking like the dinar is getting scarce. Not only is the uncirculated dinar hard to find, it appears that used dinar is hard now to get. This has to be good news. Although e-bay still seems to be flooded with dinar.

Ordered online last weekend from the Halifax.......Went to pick up 3 days later and was told they couldnt get it.
My card had been debited for the amount and had a nightmare getting the card refunded because the teller said this had never happened before!!!!
Not really sure what to make of it??????

I just cancelled my order from USDinar.com since it's been 6 days and no contact or Dinars :-( I called them 4 days ago and they said they were having a problem in "Shipping"...but I think they are out and were trying to get some so they needed to buy some time.

USDinar.com sucks. I ordered from them a year ago. 6 weeks later, no dinar. I was able to get a refund. It's interesting to see they are still up to their old tricks. Order from SafeDinar.com You will recieve the dinar THE NEXT DAY cod. Several successfull orders from them. All new uncirc bills.

Thanks for the information everyone, so it’s still difficult getting hold of Dinar from British banks.

I was planning on ordering 300,000 Dinars from the Halifax on Thursday, I don’t know if I should bother now. I know Halifax source their foreign currency from Travelex so maybe they have run out.

Kevlad, let us know if you receive them, I think RBS usually source their foreign currency from Travelex as well.

My friend ordered a million from Barclays on Monday and collected Tuesday (yesterday/today - not sure what time this forum is) with no problems. :D
Amer has always been very reliable - although turnaround is obviously about 5 days.

I've used them several times no problem. We just got a shipment of 10 mil in from them today. The website has the prices. My guess is they will be up another 10 bucks per mill by Sunday.
