Todays exchange rate is 1441 !!!

There were only 5 banks participating in todays auction with a very low volume of USD traded, whats up with that?

They (the banks) either do not want anymore (read "crash") or CBI is holding back sales for who knows what reason.

The other scenario is each bank has been guaranteed "X" amount (and no more) of Dinar at a specified "low" rate and everybody has topped up (internal memo type thing) - CBI says "time is up what you have is what you get at this reduced rate" and we head to a reval.

You just never know with this.

Also in conjunction with a few PM's I sent, huge US influence with the banking industry here (Iraq) and the holiday will have some fall out - things on hold here translates slow day in the dessert.

Good to see a rise, 1338 by end of next week I think.

I would think that everyone is holding on to their dinars. They can be fairly certain that the exchange rate will be better at the next auction, or at least the one after that.

My question is today's level is about half of yesterday's. So what happens when no one is exchanging dinars for dollars? How will we know CBI's official rate?
