Here is an email I got from one of my Dinar sources.

This e-mail is being sent to you to notify you that the Iraqi Dinar/U.S. Dollar exchange rate has changed. According to the Iraqi Central Bank website (Central Bank Of Iraq (http://www.cbiraq.org)) the exchange rate has changed from:

1426/Dinars to the US Dollar or $701.26 per million Dinars

To

1424*/Dinars to the US Dollar or $702.25 per million Dinars

* as of 12/7/2006 3:13:15 AM CST as per Central Bank of Iraq website

We should hit the 1345 mark by years end, than the rate should hold well for awhile. Just as Mr I stated which is referenced in another thread, this is a temporary adjustment.

When do you think it will hit $1.32? I'm not too up on all of this, but that amount would suit me fine right now..at least exchange enough to be debt free....what a new year's present gift that would be!!!!

The only web site that matters is the CBI, the others are not correct. I believe Steph is correct in her observations. Better to keep emotion out of it.

I am wondering who this person Steph is...she talks as though she were the head of CBI...what are her credentials? She never has anything positive to say, and it seems as though there is always a war of words going on between her & Adster. Adster is someone I always count on because he has a lot of common sense.

I worked for a bank too, but I never had a chip on my shoulder. Every time I see those big red lips..before I even read what she has to say....I know that it will be nothing positive. To me, she is the Queen of Negativity...not a good trait. I hope she is more cordial with her clients than she is with the people on this forum.

Sorry I can't answer that one, well I could with a remark, but I just read and move along to the next.

Good as gold are her words, mostly :drunk:

Shes a hard line realist. I respect her opinions just as much as anyone elses.

Remember that all these other sites, other than the CBI, are reflecting bank rates for purchase and exchange. As an example, Chase is selling dinar at a rate of 1277:1. That does not mean the value of the dinar is incorrect on the CBI site, but rather that is what the banks are willing to sell the currency for in order to produce a profit.

These rates are a good means of reading the current market interest in the dinar, but as has been stated before, the only rate that truly matters is the CBI rate.

Steph & Adster have alot of good info for us most of the time. That is as long as they don't communicate with one another. Just my view.

I whole heartedly agree. They do bring alot of knowledge and information to the forum.

On the other hand, the little spats are brutal to read after the 37th time. It would be nice if one of the two (or both) took the higher road already. It would be a feather in their intellectuality caps.

I think that positivity is the key to this "higher road". One of the two is on a very negative path. I won't name names, I will only say NOONE KNOWS. :huge:

I do believe you are mistaken, the 10k was/is to be given out in the form of checks, or vouchers. I think the confusion lies in that several articles stated the 10k would be distributed through the same venues as the ration "cards".
The arabic translations are a bear.....
Having said that, NO, there has been no further mention of the 10k. Mysteriously forgotten, which leads me to further speculation I won't go into here.
