Iraqi Trade Ministry said that the Trade Minister will head the Baboucar Khairallah Hassan negotiating delegation to Iraq's accession to the World Trade Organization and that the delegation comprises representatives from the relevant Iraqi ministries and private sector bodies. Terms will be negotiated with 159 Member files completed by Iraq in his career to join this organization.

The statement said the Ministry's information office Monday that Iraq had fought two rounds of negotiation with WTO discussed many files and it is now entering the third round of negotiation will be dedicated to file the initial offer of goods which has been submitted to the Organization after the completion of the accomplished by the Iraqi side.

The statement added that foreign economic relations Department of the Ministry of Commerce, in coordination with the United Nations Conference on trade and development (UNCTAD) has set up a continuous and intensive training programme over the years 2013 and 2014 aims to strengthen the negotiating capacity and professional skills of the team members to achieve good results serving the economic and trade sectors in Iraq.

Iraq reportedly sought for years to join the World Trade Organization to improve trade and economic status.
