Come on guys, where do we fancy celebrating the reval? We have to have some sort of a big reval party, we've worked hard on this and we deserve to meet, greet and drink ourselves stupid! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

All of a sudden you get rich and the 1st thing you want to do is get completely and totally plastered with a group of people that you barely know? Sounds to me like I'll have to avoid that party... It's one thing to get drunk in your own home, where relatively few people are impacted, but to take that public as part of the 1st impression you'll make on a whole bunch of new friends? Perhaps a familiar expression is called for - something about fools and their money ? Or perhaps just consideration for
others...

:(
P.S. This isn't intended to refer to a more private party in a hotel room with a limited audience... it refers more to the bar at whatever resort the shindig ends up at.

Do we only get one party?? I say we have a round the world party. We could even charter our own party plane!

London-Las Vegas-Sydney-Singapore-Berlin-Paris-London!

But I agree with Steve, I don't want to get smashed out of my head... Some champagne to start, maybe some fine whisky later... I want to enjoy my finanical success not nurse a year long hangover...

I should say that over xmas I was given a bottle of dom perignon, I have decided to leave it until the day of the ReVal!

I vote for Thailand!!!!!!! Been there 6 times and am going back at the end of this month, for at least a month. Going to hit Cambodia, Laos and Viet Nam as well. (hope to open a rather substantial bank account in Nam!) The Thais are used to seeing people drink and party, so nothing unusual there! LOL Actually they do a darn good job of it themselves!

You might want to poll your money together (if and when) and hire a top-notch security detail to go with you. There's a lot of truth to what Steve (sgmunson) is saying, and probably a whole lot more reasons that make this a bad idea over a good one. One being that you're actually planning it in a public, open forum, with no control whatsoever as to who is watching... It's a nice dream, but it might need some discretion in the planning. :shhh:

I see what sgmunson is trying to say.......completely and yet the desire to meet and great is there too. i have a few things I could see doing on my own, so maybe we could make it a "kill two birds with one stone" type of deal. How about this?..........in the states, I have always been in favor of vegas. If nothing else, to have some good food with some good friends.....not much of a gambler myself......hahahah risk taker yes, gambler no. As for you Austrailians.........how about we meet halfway? Lets say, oahu, HI. Just take in sun and surf.....maybe a few pina's. ;)

Maybe after sitting on the edge of your seat for to years as alot of us have & living thru hundreds of rumors about how were going to be rich this weekend & every weekend for as long as I can remember, Maybe a few want to let their hair down a little & celebrate Myself I don't drink I think they refer to just enjoying all the efforts we've endured recently, I also think people would like to talk to others that have believed in this all along & had to listen to the negitive nellys and don't forget the 500 I TOLD YOU SO"S YOU OWE THE WORLD!!! Also if you get a little stupid it okay we'll get you back to your room safely & you can say sorry tomarrow. Can we have a little Reval party at the SPACE NEEDLE for the folks from the GreatNorthwest ,maybe a warm up party although its not to warm at the moment DC

See, I agree with Steve to a point ( A little humbug but thought out). We are just going to get together with family (who all invested) and party together.

I fear partying with all of you guys and gals might prove to be dangerous. :D Seriously, you know that out of 10 people there will be 2 or 3 really obnoxious people will have to go around gloating and flaunting money and acting like a complete Bush! Sorry :) You know it's true.

But the thought is wonderful and fully fun but in reality it would get messy if done on a large scale. KISS. Keep it simple silly!

Let's be sure to take a lot of pictures, because it's possible that 9 out of 10 won't be at the 5-year anniversary party.

I don't know the exact figure, but something like 90% of people who gain substantial wealth (lottery, inheritance, etc.) in a short amount of time are broke within 5 years. Because all they do is spend and never plan for the future. Don't be that guy, or gal for you ladies here. Be in the 10% who get smart and keep it, as well as make it grow. Once again, no offense intended, however, from some of the comments I have read, I think there are some people in this forum who will be in the 90% if and when this investment pays off.

Personally, I say we charter a medium-sized jet, and pick everyone up at the nearest large city... then hit the bit towns... London, Rome, Athens, Dubai, Baghdad (just kidding), New Delhi, Tokyo, Singapore, Bejing, Honolulu, Los Angeles, Miami, Caribbean tour, then back to our respective homes. If we all chip in a little it could be done. But, for now, it's just a dream. Much like the RV of the Dinar. ;)

I love Bermuda but FYI to our in house "wake & bake" crowd , there's no happy weed in Bermuda. So that limits festivities to sex and booze (Bermuda is home to some awesome black rum).....wait a minute, is sex allowed in Bermuda ????......oh yeah ....I remember now... Sex IS legal in Bermuda so long as you aren't caught doing on and/or in the vicinity of (50 meters) a national monument (which may or may not include a lighthouse) or on a "protected shipwreck" ! I can obtain the exact wording of the ordinance from my attorney should anyone planning to visit Bermuda necessitate it !

Ya, the elbow beach surf hotel is a great place to stay i'm sure you could get naked and wild over there on the island. Hamilton is great for resturants and shoping and drinking i just liked the place. The police dress up like bobbies in england was alot of fun. Your right the rum was great don't remember after two drinks goes down like coolade:huge:

i'll do some research and find out how much it will cost to buy a small island in the south pacific...indonesia alone has 6000 that are uninhabited...we dont need a big one...and then we can create whatever impression youd like on your fellow iif'ers:happy64:

I posted this in the "FL party" thread, ... looks like it needs to be here too! :)

Sounds to me like there needs to be a monthly party planned for each region, West coast, East, Midwest, Canada, Great Briton, etc.

In about a year, we will have all met each other, and seen the world!

My wife and I will go anywhere in the world. Somebody just tell us when and where. We have our bags packed (not really) but I guarantee you, it will not take us long.

The extra fee for insurance on your moped rental is worth every penny !!! I understand they actually ran "Club Med" off the island for certain inproprieties said to have been taking place ! If we see a decent reval I'd get naked & even consider drinking a rum concoction !

I'd be happy with anywhere warm and tropical where I can dust off the old bikini, play beach volleyball, laze by the water with a cocktail in hand and just enjoying the moment.....before returning to set future plans into motion (e.g., look into viable investments, build my fantasy dream home, make a start on my vineyard, children's charity sponsorship and last but not least donate to the soldier's families fund. Busy, busy, busy but the kind of busy I enjoy). This said, I'm easy and go with the flow with whatever the consensus chooses.

YES, in that order ! If you drink the rum concoction first you might find yourself between two doctor's wives on the hood of a mercedes when they both start talking about the whereabouts of their husbands and you start thinking what were those mystery shots they gave me ?.......or so I've been told !......

:lmao: I remember those mopeds and your right I think we smashed up at least one of them. Insurance is a must and the coral you gotta watch out for the coral they even pave the roads with it on the island. Fun place if you don't ride drunk but it always happens or you take one down the beach etc.:happy64:

:lmao: So you've been told, eh?! :lmao:

I used to live in St. Thomas, USVI. The rum concoctions there are called "cruzian confusions" and come in those giant 23oz. bowls! Only one allowed to a customer. I dated a waitress, so I got two once ... Whoa! And I was no light weight when it came to drinking in those days. Nowadays, one scotch and I'm just fine.
