I'd suggest you do a little research on ATCO and DOC. Both have a little baggage, but their upside is pretty significant. If I had my 'druthers, I'druther focus on ATCO.

For semi-short term, I'd go with Infinium Labs. Their stock is worth next to nothing right now, but it has the potential for huge growth. And recently (as in the last week or so), it's jumped almost tripled. Check out their website at http://www.phantom.net/

interesting options. Your right, they both have baggage, so a little risky i guess.
ATCO: American Tech. http://quote.barchart.com/texpert.asp?sym=atco&code=BTAB (dotn see those numbers often). Then again, it was given a poor review by S & P. Though 7/10 by MSN. What I dont like about it is the low equity: 7 million. Otherwise i would buy it now. I'll be watching it.
DOC. the one analyst likes it, MSN doesnt like it. I like it except for one article that disturbs me:
http://www.thestreet.com/_yahoo/comment/stocksunderten/10197629.html?cm_ven=YAHOO&cm_cat=FREE&cm_ite=NA
hard to buy after reading bad outlooks like that. its just there opinions on the technology mostly. The fundamentals dont look so bad.

DOC is an interesting one to watch. If the FDA ever gets serious about tracking beef cattle in this country, via RFID tags, this company is going sky high. Also, on the Orwellian side, if RFID tags ever begin to get incorporated into the human stream, the stock will see the same rise. The latter is a little more weird and longer term. However, the FDA has recently granted approval of their devices for human use. DOC's baggage comes primarily from their parent company ADSX.
ATCO is also kind of interesting, if nothing else, because of their product. They have perfected a device that can transmit sound great distances, in specific, pin-point beams. They have recently been awarded government contracts to provide the devices to the military to be used during the Iraqi elections for crowd control. At high enough decibels, they can actually cause loss of muscle control. On the civilian side, the devices are being tested in arenas such as vending machines, so when you step in front of the machine, a beam of sound is transmitted directly to the user, and no one else will hear it. I think the product shows more promise in the military/security sector though.

Yes, Atco did get a big jump then, and has been rising. Good find, I hope you made a few! Doc has been pretty steady.
Also the Infinium Labs has had quite the spike. You guys can find 'em!
My buy day is Monday. Im guessing the markets are closed tomorrow, so im thinking already.I need one more vote for either Oracle or Oshkosh. Oshkosh has dividends coming out end of January, so I'll probably sell short. There is usually a huge spike the day before, more than what the dividend pays.
if i dont get another vote i might try a penny stock (never bought one before).

I highly recommend a company called Aware (AWRE). This company has enough money in the bank to cover the next 22 years expenses (money made in the dot.com era), and no debt.

They have patented the ability to use 2 ordinary telephone lines to provide television, high speed internet (twice the speed of cable 24 Mbps), and voice over internet. Their patents must be good, because a 4 billion dollar company (Thomson SA of France) just bought a license to use their products. The company AWARE will report earnings on Thurs Feb 3rd at 5 pm Eastern time. I think the company will go from $5.50 to $8 by Friday Feb 11th. No kidding, I'm loaded to the hilt, and we'll see. BEDFORD, Mass., Jan. 21 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Aware, Inc. AWRE, a worldwide DSL technology leader and innovator, has scheduled a conference call to discuss the company's operating results for the fourth quarter and fiscal year 2004 on Thursday, February 3, 2005, at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time. CEO Michael Tzannes and CFO Rob Weiskopf will host the earnings conference call.
I'll pay attention to the report. My main problem with AWRE is that the earnings are negative for most years! Thats a big no no for a safe player like me. I know, no guts no glory, but I've done fine on all-around good companies. Also S & P gives it a C with some goods and bads.

lets try it again sometime. Good prep for the ISX, hey?
Major R&D, but they are headed in the right direction. I would like to learn more about technologies competing with them.
